Do you really think this is the time to discuss this? I think the Administration is smart enough to know there is a problem. As of yet there has been no mention of a possible opening at head coach.

John has to many relatives (neices, nephews, daughter, son) involved in the basketball program. This could lead to problems that I'm sure the Administration, parents, players and fans do not want to deal with. It wouldn't be a smart move on anyone's part to even consider this option.

I am aware of who the candidates were and there wasn't alot of interest or highly qualified candidates. I think they made their decision based on who they felt would be the best fit. Was this decision right or wrong, I don't know. Give it some time.

 

I wonder what makes a qualified candidate is to you then?? Because I am sure that I knew some qualified candidates that wanted this job.

There is a reason they let the former coach go, a reason they decided on the current coach, and over looked the more qualified ones. I just have a different look on it than other people. I just want the Administration to take blame for what they did and try to fix it before it gets more crazy.

Countrygirl brought up the topic, someone else mentioned some problems with softball and I was only referencing both and stating that we needed to get back to the topic of this thread. If they want to discuss who should be Walton's coach, start a thread. Let's get back to the topic of this thread.

Was he fired or did he quit? I heard he stepped down.

I don't know if anything will be changed this year for the Girls. I think it will change for the better next year but I think this season is one to forget. Sorry to those Sr's. but if the Administration hasn't said anything yet, I don't think they will.

What direction is that? Some candidates might not even apply because of what happen to the former coach, at least that is what I have heard! That leaves one of the parents to take charge and personally that is not a good mix at least not at Walton Verona. Parents from what I have seen are all about their child, would make it difficult to have a TEAM.

Agree that nothing will be done this year, unfortunately! I know that last year there were some concerns raised and the administration would not address this! I do believe that if something is not done, and soon, then many players will leave. There has already been talk about this with the younger girls. It is too bad because the program was strong in the past and will take a while to recover even with changes. Even if coaching changes were made, who knows who they would get next!!
