One was a former head coach in Covington that went to Richmond to coach, one is a middle school coach who wears "championship" rings (he’s been telling people since September he was the next coach:rolleyes:), ones a small college defensive coordinator, and the rest are current assistances in NKY

Ken Turner. He was the Head Coach at Holmes in the early-mid nineties (before John Vandermeer took over). He is a classy individual that needs to be back in NKY. It would be great to see him in action locally again.

You could say that, but I beleive there is more to it.

 

Maybe Coach Turner wants to be closer to his family again. His son Lee is the Principal at Latonia Elementary and has two kids (making Coach Turner a Grand Pa obviously) and his daughter is the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Newport, not sure if she is a teacher though or if she is a mother, but she is here, so that is all that would matter to Coach Turner.

 

Maybe Scott is a new challenge that he wants. He has done a good job everywhere he has been, so why not another one, along with being closer to his family again, maybe this is exactley what Coach wants. A new Football challenge with his family to support him every Friday without having to drive two hours.

 

But this is just my guess!

1st round of interviews are over, some will be called back for a second interview. There is a committee of principal, staff, parents, and players but the principal will pick the coach

Why bother with a committee if the Principle is going to choose who he wants as the Head Coach. I have seen to many times where one person makes the call and it is a bad one. Take the time to interview everyone who applies as you never know there maybe a diamond in the rough out there trying to get a coaching job. Again only my opinion friends. JD
