Whoa. Boone county beat the team that won state that year 35-0 in regular season, Shelby County. They didn't win state because Owen punished Tony Law in the state games for some "problems" that he was having, thus giving him zero carries in the finals.

By "elitist" I asume you're talking about the teams, schools and communities that make the effort necessary to be winners and son't sit around making every silly escuse in the world for why they can't be successful.

 

Sides for state should not be split by anything other than location. If they were, Cov and Highlands would have been on different sides for years, not to mention Beechwood and NCC.

No I am talking about the ones who allude to the fact that if a certain school(s) are not in the finals, than it isn't a true championship game.

 

Basically, the arrogant attitude that if isn't us, than it isn't a true championship game.

 

And a BIG BY THE WAY, just because you have a football trophy does not make you a winner. It means you won a football trophy.

 

Many of the Bengals that have rap sheets I am sure have a football trophy or two. And they ain't winners. They just won a football trophy that in the great scheme of things, means nothing.

This Trinity person for one has never believed the whole "it gets the best 2 teams in the championship" rationale for placing Trinity and X on opposite sides of the bracket, I go for the money angle.

 

Let them put us both on the same side of the bracket and then we can split a second huge gate most years. A side effect of this will be that in most years there will be a highly anti-climactic championship game that will be over at half time like last year, sorry Ryle fans, but at least more people will get to participate.

 

When this happens and the attendance dips how long will it be before the KHSAA is forced to start taking gate money for all playoff games and how much will that hurt the budgets of some schools.

Are X and Trinity in the same district and/ region in basketball, baseball, soccer ect.... If they are then why the split in football. If they aren't then so be it.

This is just another band aid to cover the unpopular opinion of private and independent schools that have open boundaries. We need to restructure the whole darn thing

Either you base the bracket 100% on geographical constraints or you do a complete blind draw.

 

If you do a complete geographical alignment then Trinity and X will end up on opposite sides based on their locations and the concentration of 6A school in Jefferson County. X is closer to the western side of the county and Trinity is closer to the eastern side.

What answer do you want me to give.

 

I said I don't care if the two best teams play in the finals or not. I like different schools getting the opportunity to play in the state final game.

 

The question was very narrow one about what is best for High School Football, not what makes you happy or what you like the best.

 

I just wanted your opinion on that.

This is not about what's best for high school football in the state of KY. It is unfair for the KHSAA to single out one area of the state. If you are going to do something do it state wide.

 

Imo the best way to do it is after the district championship is played (round 2) then everything else should be a blind draw.

 

WHo cares if someone has to travel 9 hours to play. If the KHSAA cared about that they would have kept 4 classes.
