Ironically though, you don't hear either one complaining because the goal is to win a state championship, plain and simple.

Yes, but the Highlands trophy case is full. Some of these schools have none and would proudly display that runner up trophy, front and center.

With reasoning, we need to do it all the way down to districts. Cov Cath and Highlands are two of the best teams in the state. They shouldn't be meeting till the semis at worse. How can we justify they are meeting in districts? Where does the madness stop??:lol:

OK....in 1986 we got beat by X in the playoffs (not the finals)....they we went to opposite sides, all the way until last season which was 2006, this year we are back on opposite sides....

 

so 1987 - 2005, 2007 = 20 seasons possible to meet in the finals

 

We've played 4 times in the title game.

 

I know that in 1987 they were still on the same side so they could not meet that year. Boone got its at large title that year.

I don't know that Ryle didn't deserve to be there and that anyone has said that ... they navigated the road that was laid out for them in the playoffs. Then again, don't try to tell anyone that Ryle was really the #2 team in 4A that year.

 

But it's clear that the KHSAA was taking steps to try and put Trinity, St. Xavier and Male on the same side of the bracket to appease some people. This new "proposal" smacks of the same attitude.

By "elitist" I asume you're talking about the teams, schools and communities that make the effort necessary to be winners and don't sit around making every silly escuse in the world for why they can't be successful.
