Mackey said he is living in Atlanta with former Duke and Atlanta Hawks player Roshown McLeod. McLeod is the owner of a company called Next Level Players Development.

He might not be living in Atlanta for very long due to the problems he is facing in Kentucky.

Prolly the best for him to start over without a reputation and let him finish his high school career. Hopfully this is be a life changing experience for him. Hopefully he can move past the past and fullfill the potential he ahs on the basketball court and finish the career with a top notch University and end up with a career either in basketball or with a degree....Goodluck Mackey

Bud Mackey is currently denying that he spoke with the Georgetown Newspaper, and according to his terms he is not allowed to become a resident in another state while under a full cash bond in Georgetown. If you saw the letter in the Lexington Herald Leader, his lawyer is even denying that he has transferred to an Atlanta High School, Link is below;

This is even more unfortunate for Mackey, looks as if he is going against advice of court system and his own lawyer. That is unless Georgetown Article is bogas, looks as if Mackey is getting some bad advice. He is going to have to serve a penality for his actions and the bottom line is that he will never again play for Scott County. Let's just hope he gets a second chance, but it looks as if he is going to serve the time before he gets his next opprotunity. I just hope others learn from this situation!

I agree. Just brush it under the rug and teach the rest of the high school kids that are doing things the right way that if you are a "great" player you can do these things and still get right back in the game. Afterall, basketball is much more important than some ole silly felony hanging over your head that involves drugs.

I wondered how long it would take Mackey to relocate with someone getting their hooks in him ... uh, make that giving him a second chance.

I believe since he is 18 he could actually go where ever he wanted, it's this "little" court thing thats got him locked down.

Heard about the story at 6:00 news and followed up on it at 11 on WLEX on Sat.night. Lawyer and Grandfather knew nothing about the story. The bigger question is whether the judge and commonwealth's attorney knew anything about it and what they will allow Mr. Mackey to do? Story reported his first practice today, plays first game on Tues., my guess he will be in Georgetown still. Instead of some outsider former NBA'er giving advice, where are the parents and grandfather? They should be doing this job. If he was my kid there would'nt be anymore basketball ever until after he pays his dues to the justice system.
