Bud Mackey on the move

Featured Replies

He is the best player in the State by FAR! I see NBA if he keep his head together!

Are you serious? Even if he WAS the best player in the state he certainly is not now. But i really can't see him as being better than Miller or Hopson.

goldenrule 19, I'm wondering if you would be so forgiving if he was selling crack cocaine to your child and be so eager to congratulate him on a state championship.... he was charged with distributing cocaine on school property and yes he's young but an adult. Your comments, goldenrule 19, have me curious about your other 18 rules.

My children know better than that! TAKE A HIKE lol. I was only talking about forgiveness, For a 18yrs old child. If you know Bud he is a Child that made a mistake that he will pay for more than he knows right now! 18yrs old does not make you a man that job is GOD! SO maybe u need to know the Golden Rule!

I don't need to know Bud, but if your in possession or even around cocaine at the age of 18, then your not a child anymore. You given up your title as a child, so don't call him that. By being around that stuff he made the decision to grow up on the spot and deal with every consequence that comes his way. I was a Bud Mackey fan and wish him luck in the future, but as if now I don't have one bit of remorse for this kid. He deserves everything he gets.

I feel the exact same way towards the player from Holmes last year who also is in some deep trouble with the law. It was their choice and their actions, now they must deal with their consequences.

I'm 25 and have been in some deep trouble before, with and without the law. But I have never ever once touched an ounce of cocaine much less thought about putting myself near it and he had a much brighter future to look forward to compared to me. Thats been my decision, Bud made his.

DONT HATE THE PLAYERS HATE THE GAME.

goldenrule19,

I have no problem with forgiveness. It just don't seem right that you thank a "man" for a state championship who is accused of distributing cocaine in a school.

They lost the scholarship for this year.

Mackey would be a SR this year. He would be at IU NEXT year.

He is in the 08 class. IU will have all scholarships for next year.

IU may have all it's scholarships for next year..but, part of the deal with the Sampson phone deal was that 35 of the illegal contacts were with Macky (remember Sampson acknowledged a 'few') so one of the parts of his remorse was to stop recruiting the one individual with the 30 some odd illegal calls....that would be Macky... this year or next doesn't make a difference!!

Mackey is a man and in a man's body. How do we know he was no on something during the season last year. No he does not deserve a "thank you" . Yes he was caught and maybe this is best for him in the long run. And I also would like to know where his adult caregivers are in this matter. I do wish him well.

I just keep shaking my head everytime I hear about the kid. What if.....What if.......

Are you serious? It makes no sense to lose a scholarship for this year. The scholarship is gone for next year. They lose one and it just so happens Mackey gets in trouble. Pull that one and they are off the hook. I expect better from you.

I was watching a lexington tv station at 6 tonite and they said they called the school were Mackey was to play this week, and the principal had not ever heard of him, let alone him being enrolled there.

Wow, things are starting to get interesting.:creepy:

I think he needs to serve some jail time to teach him a lesson.

Mackey clearly lacks guidance in his life. Anyone with his god given athletic abilities that would throw away a future like he potentially has is clearly a lost young man. Its a shame but its reality and he needs to suffer the consequences. If he accepts his punishment, serves it well and then learns from it then let the guy have a second chance.

I think BGP is about the extent of discussion for Mackey anytime soon. You definitely wont be seeing him playing for a major D-1 school.

You better tell Mick Cronin to quit calling him then! :thumb:
