I assume Indiana pulled the offer to sign him.

Part of the Sampson get out of 'jail deal' no more recruitment of Macky...among others..loss of $ , assist. coach resignation.

Wow, I'm not sure you could be any more wrong.

Yes.

IU lost a scholarship THIS year as a part of the self imposed sanctions.

Mackey would be an 08 signing.

Mackey was supposed to be 07-08 sign, they lost his scholarship, and have pubically stated he is "no longer" in their signing class!

They lost the scholarship for this year.

Mackey would be a SR this year. He would be at IU NEXT year.

He is in the 08 class. IU will have all scholarships for next year.

IU wants him to go to a JUCO first, but he doesn't want to do that.

Just FYI

The team lost a scholarship for 2008-09, reducing the number of scholarships to 12.

That would make more sense. Why would IU lose a scholarship for this year when all of the recruiting has been completed?

Anyone want to bet he ends up playing for Happy at Georgetown? I bet in time that is exactly where he ends up.

Nope I won't. If this kid get through this whole ordeal without seeing any jail time then someone will take a chance on him in D-1. He's a top 100 recruit and if he plays at all he'll be playing at big school.

Bud is young and has time to get his life together! Young people make BIG mistakes sometime! He just needs to learn from it and move on! He is the best player in the State by FAR! I see NBA if he keep his head together!

Wish you all the luck?

Thanks for the State Championship!:thumb:

Best of luck to Mr. Mackey and his career.

I see NBA if he keep his head together!

Mackey was a great player, however this is a little bold

This whole situation has me wondering if his amateur status is going to be in question. I mean, he's living with former Duke player Roshown McLeod? What is the connection between those two? This whole story sounds sketchy at best to me.
