Bud Mackey on the move

Featured Replies

I don't think Bud Mackey should be allowed to play college basketball at all. I mean why does he deserve that privilege over someone who doesn't get into trouble. It's unfair and I'm sure if and when he does play college basketball he'll probably get into even more trouble.

Because you have to give him the chance to pick up the peices and get a second shot at life. You can't just punish the kid for life over one mistake. If you deny him the RIGHT to an education, and yes it is a right not a privilage, your basically making him go back to his old ways because there is no way out of it.

Didn't mackey get released without any punishment? or am i wrong?

Mackey is waiting for an indictment to be sent to circut court from the grand jury I believe, legal jargon that I do not understand, he has not been found guilty or not guilty and he has not been sentanced yet. Indications are pointing to the fact that he will do time, but many believe he will be found guilty and shock probated since it is his first offense, I'm not very well versed in the legal world so I am sure I screwed all that up! The only thing that happened today is the judge approved (after he already left w/o her approval) for Mackey to be schooled in Cincy as long as he appears for his court dates.

It seems obvious to me that Mackey is getting ready to plead not guilty by reason of mental defect. He has to be nuts to blow this off like it's a speeding ticket. His actions would not lead to shock probation if I was the judge. It's plain to see that Mackey isn't shocked by any of this.

Nice mohawk:rolleyes::irked:

We'll have to see how this plays out legally. Innocent until found guilty.

However, I am surprised the judge let him play, considering he didn't stick to his agreement. If they had asked the judge first, then OK. Most judges don't like being ignored of their orders/agreements.

Doing drugs is bad enough. If he was selling, then he needs to do some time if found guilty. Yes, it may impact his basketball career. But long term, this kid needs to learn a lesson if found guilty. Many things in life much more important than basketball.

It is my understanding he was not selling. It gets a little more complicated from there but I am sure we will hear the story when it goes to trial.

Heard a rumor tonight from a source I consider 55/45, so I thought I'd see what you guys have heard. Any chance a plea is being worked out that includes a 6 month suspended sentence and no jail time? Thanks in advance...

I hope that is not the case. What is this going to tell other young people.?? This would be wrong. Nip it in the bud now. " no pun intended" just a Barney saying.

I would believe that.

I have heard this as well, but I am wondering if all this attention (trip to Georgian w/o permission and trip to Cincy w/o permission) has possibly changed the mind of the judge. It seems almost comical that in the midst of all this Mackey then decides he needs a mohawk what type of advising is he getting?

If it changed the mind of the judge, he would be back in Lexington IMO. I don't see what his hair style has to do with anything...

Image....

Which is weak beyond belief. This is the legal system, not a fashion show...

Not suprising then that you also support Cincy :) I have no problem with a mohawk.....after he's out of court, he wouldn't have been playing with one at Scott County!
