LCA was very game and I actually thought we were in trouble .I figured they would go for it and was thanking the football gods when he did not hand it to # 30 .What a running back ,hard to bring down .

 

As far as the play call on 4th .The play may have worked in the game ,BUT ,you also had more of the field for the receivers to spread the defenders out .On the other times you were not at the goal line .

 

The on-side kick out of the half was big for LCA .It allowed them to have the ball and keep from getting beat on some .Then we turn it over and LCA goes up 7 .BW responded very well putting up the next 17 pts.

 

I do not know what everyone else in the state have returning but LCA should be ranked # 1 coming into next year .Very good underclassmen playing beyond there years .

 

CONGRATS TIGERS PLAYERS AND COACHES !!! YOU HAVE WORKED HARD AND THROUGH ALOT TO GET THIS .

LCA- Your Coach made the right choice. Had they made it he would be the toast of the town and next mayor of Lexington. But instead folks will question him all year. Bottom line he had the faith in his team to make it. It speaks volumes. With 4 minutes to go he believed if he didnt make he would get the ball back in great field position.

 

Bottom line, I look up to coach Rains for making the call. He was playing to WIN and not playing to lose. There is a difference.

 

Could not agree more. Coach Rains has the guts to make the hard call and no one should question that one.

 

Once again, great game by both teams. Each and every player left it all out on the field and no one could ask for more.

IMO, there were several terrible calls on both sides. The instant reply at Papa Johns only reinforced some of the awful calls made. Cant wait to watch the replay game on TV.

 

I also have never seen a state game where the officials had to have several "conferences" to decide the proper call..

 

Obviously, I cannot complain about the overall outcome of the game, but...yet I am doing so. The best of the best should be there and I dont think they were there for class A.

Still trying to figure out the illegal touching call... Thought they should have kicked it and then try to get a three and out and then only need a fieldgoal for the win.

If an ineligible player touches or catches the pass anywhere on the field it is illegal touching. I was listening to the webcast and heard the call, but did not see it. However, in this case I believe an ineligible touched or caught the pass.

Not kicking the FG was not a gutsy call, that was a dumb call. They have a great kicker who is going to make that FG 99% of the time. They tie the game and try to get the ball back and then have a chance to kick a FG for the win.

 

Even if LCA had scored on the play, I still call it a dumb call. It makes no sense to me. The coach is supposed to always put his team in the best postition to WIN the game.

One of the LCA recievers knocked the ball up in the air and a LCA lineman caught it. I thought it was fair game to catch once the ball was tipped in the air. Maybe I'm wrong. I know its legal in college.

That argument makes no sense. If LCA scores on the play, they have a lead with 3-4 minutes remaining ... isn't that being in a position to win the game?
