What a great game, and we definately had the two best teams in class A in the finals. I know Beechwood won, but as much as people are questioning the LCA coach for playcalling I was wondering why Beechwood didn't play more smashmouth offensively and keep the ball away from LCA. They won I guess that's all that matters. Congratulations on outstanding seasons to both teams, and has been said before it's a shame someone had to lose.

 

I actually thought LCA did a very good job defending that smash mouth .Beechwood had ran over all comers in the playoffs in the 2 nd half .Lca seemed to play well against this keeping the line backers free to make plays or even lineman at times on tackles .

 

Once again great job by both teams .Hope to meet again in next years final !! :thumb:

First, let me congratulate the TIGERS: Players, Coaches, CHEERLEADERS, Band, Fans. Thanks for the memories. It seems surreal still, and will take a while to sink in.

Second, let me congratulate LCA on a great game and tenacious kids. You never gave up. It really could have gone either way. I must admit, I thought several times that LCA had it in the bag. Hold your heads high. I have a feeling you'll be back in the "Pizza Box" many more times!

 

 

(Yes, I agree that there were too many ???? calls. I was sitting with 2 football officials, who were having a fit at several of them. They actually set me straight on 2 calls, but on 2 others, they sided with the general fans that there were bad calls.)

Questionable calls all caught on tape. Amelung did intercept the pass on their sideline, feet in good catch. He did not interfere w/the WR but he got pushed away by the WR. The interference call on Teipel in the end zone, not! The WR tripped on the back of Teipel's foot and fell. Amelung's fumble on the kickoff, either way, could have been down and maybe not. These were all crucial calls and 2 of them made by the same ref and everyone can guess which one it was!

 

Does title IX come into play now w/football refs?

I ran into an official and he explained that the officials were not ready for this stage. I agree, he pointed out the interception, both feet were in, good in the NFL but not here? The other was the on-side kick and it appeared from his point that the kicking team was over the line nearly 2 yards. The PI was not there and the personal foul OOB on the same drive, very ? I was amazed that the head official had gray pants on, did not look the part. Most officials know, I did, when I called that you need to get new stuff to work this game. Some did, some did not and some stood out. Oh well, another year has gone and hope we all see each other again next season.

I have struggled with this since yesterday. I was happy to see a female ref, but agree........to put it politely.....she did not represent her gender well on the field.

This was the first time I saw a woman on the field, and I was very disappointed in the calls she made. I am afraid that she might have been trying too hard to assert herself and failed miserably.

As I said before, when it comes to the state finals, the best of the best should be officiating. It is not a learning time.

As far as being female, that should not be an issue. If you know the game, you know the game. Sadly, she did not support this argument.:madman:

Do you remember how well the Louis HC game was called:D, I was told they had a championship game. How sad is that?

Im sitting here watching the replay of the game and was wondering how many fumbles LCA had this year? The way #30 takes the handoff from the QB is awful. It looks like they would have a lot of fumbles on the QB/RB exchange. I didnt watch the whole game this is basically from about the beg of the 4th quarter on.

Does anyone know what grade #15 is in for LCA? He is fun to watch.
