Here is the website for Marshall County

Im sorry..I was being sarcastic....some posted earlier inferring that a visiting team doesn't get a fair game called at "a place like Marshall County." Thats why I asked HIM what kind of place he was talking about......Im a Mayfield alum, but I don't really like it when someone trashes a program like Marshall. They are a quality program that gets tons of support from their community. Enough said.

Will the St. X vs. Marshall Co. game be carried by the St. X radio network?

The day of the 1995 semifinals, I watched Mayfield beat Harrodsburg, then went over to watch the Marshall-St. Xavier game. Best I remember, it was cold and wet at Mayfield, too.

This claim of wetting the field amused me, so I researched it. According to the KHSAA bracket the game was played on November 24, 1995. According to the records kept by UK Climate Data Center Mayfield received .60 inches of rain the day before the game, November 23, 1995. Paducah received .30 inches of rain. I'd bet Draffenville received half-inch or so of rain as well. So, sorry Westsider, I don't believe the Marshalls turned on the sprinklers on ya:jump:

It wasn't me that made the claim, but thanks for verifying my memory.

St. X vs. Marshall Co. will be on 790-AM WKRD immediately following University of Louisville womens' basketball game. The Lady Cards contest starts at 5 pm Eastern time. Tigers-Marshals will follow.

This should be one of many interesting matchups in the third round of the playoffs this year. A four hour trip to face Tony Franklin's O. The Tiger D better be ready.

Good luck to both teams.

Let me know if the St X bus drivers need "directions". :lol:

OUtstanding job on the research............:thumb::thumb:

In the years that X travels in the playoffs, you will notice that it always plays at least one game on the road to get the team used to the travel. It may start slow but will be there in the end (See Hopkinsville-1999).

The comfort coaches will cover the 210 miles in less than 4 hours for sure. As for the Tony Framklin offense against the best defense around Louisville should be fun. Will the temps of the low 30's help or hurt the passing game.
