St. Xavier (12-0) travels to Marshall County (9-3).

Marshall Co has a pretty big and athletic line and Alan Williams(RB) runs the ball as hard as any player i've seen..Arm tackling won't get it done against him. They like to lineup in the shotgun and pass the ball quite abit, but, there QB doesnt have the greatest arm & isnt very quick and with exception of a couple of kids, really doesn't have alot of great athletes. They're a pretty solid team, but, imo, out of there league in this one. I can see St X naming the score. I'm gonna say in the neighborhood of 45-14

I also hope the officiating is done by referees not from that area and that are very objective. When a Louisville team like St. X goes to play in a place like Marshall Country sometimes a team is up against more than just the players on the other team.

Give me a break, please. The refs are brought in from other areas and even if they werent, it would be called fairly..

Nothing less than a well prepared team, totally focused and ready to play inspired football, is needed for the Tigers to be successful at Marshall Co. The bus ride will not be 30 minutes... The environment will be hostile. Tigers have to be ready to play from the get go. Tigers coming off an outstanding effort / game against Manual. This effort / execution coupled with increased toughness in mental preparation for game time situations needed as the Tigers visit Marshall Co. Safe travel for the Tigers and the ontourage of fans.

Are you suggesting that St. X play Mr. Finch while he has not recovered from injury?? Some programs are win at all cost (forsaking a young mans health the remainder of his carrer). At X, if you have an injury you get rehabilitated, other schools may choose to motivate their injured players by playing them in effort to live up to a standard...

One thing for sure, X wont be naming any score playing on their own home field......

Manual was the only team on that side of the bracket with any chance against X. The next two weeks will be running clock.

St. X needs to keep the “fire” from the Manual game going. This could be especially difficult after a Holiday week and a long 4 hour bus ride to Marshall County. However, I think the Tigers can pull it off. Look for the offense to continue to work on their passing attack while pounding the ball up the middle with a host of RBs and the defense being ready to play. I doubt if we see Deuce unless it is him getting in for a few plays to knock the rust off. It will be difficult for St. X to keep Marshall County off the scoreboard, especially with a “Tremendous 26” runner like Williams; he might be the best RB the Tigers see all year. I do think the St. X defense can play well enough to win this one though. Look for the Tigers to pull away in the 2nd half to win by a couple of TDs.

My feelings exactly.

X is the favorite in this one. However, Marshall County is the rough equivalent to Ballard, according to the Massey ratings. X had trouble with Ballard at X. Add in a lengthy trip down to Marshall County (about 210 miles) and playing before a hostile crowd, as well as a potential letdown after a huge game against Manual, and the ingredients exist for an X stumble. Despite this, if X brings their "A" game the Tigers prevail 24-7.
