Congratulations to Simon Kenton for a great game and season! I'm sure it's a bit of a letdown for HHS' freshman team, but making it to the championship game is certainly something to be proud of! Work hard in the offseason so that you can play even better on the varsity/JV squads!

I hope you're right, I just want to wait until it happens to declare it. Seen to many transfers, kids quit, others catch up, etc. over the years.

Perhaps, but when you have back to back nice seasons hopefully some of those issues go away. I would certainly hope a team as dominant as this years SK frosh team would want to do everything they can to stay together and build something. It has to start somewhere and last year's and this year's teams are a nice place to do it.

This game will be broadcast on Insight channel 20 Sat. at 5:00 pm and next Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 pm.

I hope they do it. It looks like them and Campbell Co have the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the next few years.

I hope those issues go away too, but this isn't the first really good freshman team to go through SK. We will see over the next few years, and hopefully they continue to improve and stay together.

They should be able to. Geographically, Independence is the largest city in the State. I know it sounds crazy, but true. There are more housing developments out there than they can handle. Watch for another high school to be built out there in the next 5 years or so. If not, Simon Kenton and Scott should be amazing barring a split like Boone Co schools.

SK is already at its capacity, they will have to put another High School in Southern Kenton County in the next 5 years. Maybe that would bump SK down to 5A though and give them a chance to get away from the Louisville schools, not that playing Highlands, Cov. Cath and Dixie would be any better.

Congrats to SK! Great way to cap off an undefeated season. Although #22 is a heck of a running back I still have to give props to your O line. You made Crane look good.

That is correct the o-line played the biggest part in this game they blew HHS off the ball alnight any RB could have had a great night CONGRATS AGAIN SK !!!!!

:ylsuper::ylsuper:The SK Freshman team is a great team and will continue to grow as a group. These kids have been together for a long time as friends, team mates and rivals. They are now all together to make this team what it is. I just wish the people who are focusing on the backs would realize that your team is only as stong as you weakest link. This team showed that there is not a weak link. The backs and recievers are great athletes but could not have done anything if it was not for the O line to do the blocking and hole opening for them. The artical in the Kenton County recorder gave the credit to Crane, Baldwin, Lawerence, Winkler, Deters and Williams. No mention of the O lines right side Rice, Aubrey or left side of Mangold and Schwabe. Again without a line it does not matter how good of a backfield you have. But these kids do not want credit for themselves they understand that football is a true team effort. They will be together and make themselves state champions in the near future.:ylsuper::flame:

Congratuation's SK on a 10-0 season!

Very impressed with SK's speed, that's one thing that's been average at best on the varsity level. I loved what I saw from Crane and Winkler, Crane has the finnesse and power game, very nice combo. Hate to see the HHS QB injured, would have liked to see both teams at full strength. Congrats to coach Robinson and his staff, I know he has to be proud of his team.

That must be the year that the Catholics all go to their own league and leave the NKY teams alone. Great year guys but you are reaching a bit imo. :D

That sure would be nice to beat a team that has 1400 boys, but I just don't see that happening. They may have the ability to make a Ryle type run again.

You just keep thinking that way and we will show you. This all coming from players or parents of the teams we beat. Face it Simon Kenton is becoming a force to reckon with. We beat Highland twice in one season. SK has not had a team that could beat Highland since I believe 1979. You may think that this team was a fluke but you will soon see. You all lost to a better team face it and dont make excuses and take away from what these freshman and their coaches have accomplished. Marksberry and his staff will only take these kids and make them better. I wish all your teams luck in the future but remember these are the same kids that will be playing the same game against each other for the next three years. As for the announcers who cares about one s. We are here for the football not the announcers. Stick to the subject and leave the volunters alone. Did not see you or hear you up there. SIMON KENTON FRESHMAN FOOTBALL ROCKS.
