Take it easy dude! One or two posters from Ft Thomas does not speak for the entire Bluebird nation. There is a worm in every bad apple and we just have our share of bad apples. SK frosh had a great season and I feel they will be a force to reckon with in 6A ball.

:ylsuper::ylsuper:The SK Freshman team is a great team and will continue to grow as a group. These kids have been together for a long time as friends, team mates and rivals. They are now all together to make this team what it is. I just wish the people who are focusing on the backs would realize that your team is only as stong as you weakest link. This team showed that there is not a weak link. The backs and recievers are great athletes but could not have done anything if it was not for the O line to do the blocking and hole opening for them. The artical in the Kenton County recorder gave the credit to Crane, Baldwin, Lawerence, Winkler, Deters and Williams. No mention of the O lines right side Rice, Aubrey or left side of Mangold and Schwabe. Again without a line it does not matter how good of a backfield you have. But these kids do not want credit for themselves they understand that football is a true team effort. They will be together and make themselves state champions in the near future.:ylsuper::flame:

You are going to have to accept that the papers are going to give all of the credit to the guys that score the td's. I know, there wouldn't be any td's without the o-line but it is a dirty, thankless job that nobody gives credit where credit is due. Hang in there man and take it one year at a time. Keep working hard and who knows maybe you guys will make some big noise the next couple of years. You hit the nail on the head. Without and o-line no one will score. This years Ryle freshmen team was build around its o-line. If fact after 3 of the freshmen o-linemen were moved up to J.V. they didn't lose a game

Titans, I like your enthusiasm and confidence but it is way too early for some of your thoughts. There is a lot that can/will change over the next 3 years. This isn't the first time SK has went undefeated en route to a Freshman championship, so lets just wait and see what happens. Also, it doesn't matter what the parents of teams SK played this year say, because last time I checked they didn't play any of the power houses out of Louisville, and other than maybe Highlands there isn't a NKY team that can contend with those schools.

You didn't beat Highland twice.....you beat Highlands...You guys out Independence need to know the name of the team that your playing...:lol::lol:

That sure would be nice to beat a team that has 1400 boys, but I just don't see that happening. They may have the ability to make a Ryle type run again.

 

 

Exactly. Much different story trying to beat teams with 300-400 boys in a grade (ala St. X and Trinity) than a school with 75-100 (ala Highlands)

Check and see I may be wrong but this is what we were told by the staff at SK. I only put Highland to get you going. Never seen so much crying about and s. We know who we played and we know who we beat. This was the first SK team to beat a Highlands team since 1979. You can try to bring us down but you cant. We believe and that is all it takes. We dont need to offer free school to get good players only show the ones we have how much we care and what we will do for them. Highlands fans can naysayers all they want. You were misinformed because I know for a fact that there was an undefeated championship team in the early 90's, and believe there might have been one before that as well (not positive if they went undefeated but I do know that there was an earlier freshman championship team). That's why I found it comical when the parents were saying after the game that it was the first undefeated freshman championship in SK's history.

 

It is great that you show so much confidence in SK and these kids but you are barking up a tree that you should probably stay away from. The fact is that Highlands is THE SCHOOL in NKY. SK had a better freshman team this year, but only time will tell if these kids can continue to have the success together at the varsity level, and even if they do it would still be a huge upset if they were to beat Highlands (even though they probably won't play). The rumors have already started floating around SK about the kids that will be leaving to go to other schools. Don't be surprised to see several key contributors from this team playing in a different uniform next year.

I want to see the Pioneers grow into a power just as much as anyone, but I believe you are getting a little ahead of yourself. This years freshman team was truly special and the best team in NKY. I hope they stay where they are and continue to develop.The youth programs are doing well with the addition of the middle school teams, more kids are getting there chance to see the field. The key is to get SUCCESS at the varsity level. Then you won't have to worry about defections to other schools. Hopefully that will happen.

SK needs to learn how to win, obviously reading Titans post they don't know how to yet. You've been put down, trust me i've been thru it but you don't go out ripping everyone else for one good year, or a couple great wins. Let your play do your talking. Build on this and next year when many of these freshman don't see much playing time lets hope that everyone is still on this high horse that you seem to be on.

^^ Actually NKYSL is an SK guy and yes there was an early 90's team that went undefeated, not sure how many games but undefeated is undefeated. You're also making a lot of us "sane" SK fans look dumb. Once these freshman make it at the big level we'll talk about how much SK football rocks but until then, freshman football doesn't mean much.
