Heres a good rule of thumb to go by:

If a dog will fit in a purse, it is acceptable for anyone who carries that purse to own the dog.

Benefits of a small dog:

 

1. Cheaper to feed.

2. Less mess to clean up.

3. Attracts girls.

4. Medication is cheaper.

5. Lighter in your lap.

 

 

I have owned both large and small dogs. I have 2 small dogs now, 1 8.5lbs and 1 4lbs. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I take the girls with me quite a bit and you would not believe the attention they get. Some people are scared of big dogs but very few are scared of little ones.

 

 

How could anyone not love something that looked like this?

I think you can tell a lot about a man by his dog. Real men don't own Yorkies. Conversely, a real man secure in himself will not own a Pitbull or Rotweiller. That's overcompensation. A real man owns a Lab, Golden Retriever, Collie, etc. If he feels the need to own a little dog, he goes with a Beagle or Jack Russell. Cats are OK but must be accompanied by a detailed explanation of one's mouse problem.

A Yorkie at the beach is truly a chick magnet. Every guy should have one.

If you are a bachelor and go out and just buy a yorkie, then yes, you are in violation of Man Law #77: No man of bachelor status shall purchase (or consider purchasing) or own a dog that will not grow to be at least 20 lbs.

I have a bulldog...and I can guarantee there is no better chick magnet. I have been with him and around other dogs (Golden retrievers, yorkies, etc) and he ALWAYS gets the most attention (especially from women).

Yup, guys need man dogs like, boxers, bulldogs, pit bulls, labs, etc
