But where do you see UK being in terms of ranking? Personally I think #8 is alittle to high. I think the #10-#12 range would be good. But as I said earlier, with the crazy weekend we had in college football, I would be surprised to see an 2 AP writers turn in the same poll. Just a great balanced year for college football. I would say somewhere in the #12-#16 range ...

There is a whole lot of parity and I think this group of Cats may have the resilience to give UF and LSU some competition. LSU is in another league, but the other two are not instant losses. Don't get me wrong, I never said they would lose those 3 games. I think the Cats could come out of that stretch 1-2 or even 2-1. If they were 3-0, ... well this board would be CRAZY as well it should be. I just think that the true test of where the Cats are is coming with a stretch as tough as anyone in the country will/has faced all season. Come out of this stretch 2-1 and they could still be a top 10 team.

Watching the BEST college football teams this Saturday, there is something that Kentucky has successfully done in 5 football games, that the BEST teams struggled to do consistently this past Saturday and that is: BLOCK Fundamentally, the Kentucky receivers and mainly the FULLBACK position along with the quickest offensive line I have seen play, is simply blocking extremely well. It's amazing how one overlooked aspect of fundamentals is somewhat of a lost art... Time, after time again, we cut down OLB and DE with our FB and our offensive lineman get great angles and seals on LB's...that has allowed our running game to explode...yes we are talented in the backfield...but don't you just love how we are blocking right now! Maybe this is a boring statement, but don't underestimate the precision and execution of 10 guys without the football, it's why we are....where we are IMO.
September 30, 200718 yr Its been a long wait for the UK fans. My guess is they are probably a top 15 team but #8 is nice ! And be assured we will ride the wave as far as it will take us. At this point we know four things for sure. #1 -Lots of parity in the SEC, and on the national level. Individual matchups are they key. #2-Does anyone think Boston College or USF is a better team then Florida ? I'm not a Gator fan but please ? Florida gave the game away. #3 -Oregon finds more ways to give games away then any team I've ever seen. #4 -USF matches well against WV look at last year this was predictable. Oops I forgot the most important one #5- Louisville was overated last year and again this year just look at the fear on coach K's face as he exposes the defense and plays not to lose instead of playing to win. U of L fans need to let the Uk fans enjoy their moment and take heart in the fact that if the Cards played in the SEC they wouldn't have to worry abut a National Championship, a top 10 ranking or even a top 20. Their biggest worry would be how to stay above .500 in the conference.

September 30, 200718 yr What has Kentucky done to merit a #8 ranking? They have two decent wins. They barely beat Louisville, a team that isn't even sniffing the top 25, at home on a last-minute touchdown pass on a mega-breakdown by a horrible secondary. The Arkansas win was a good one, but the Razorbacks aren't anywhere close to the poll, either. You'll see on Thursday why we deserve to be #8!:ylsuper:

I love UK and went to the FA game this weekend. As I watched the first half go by and the FA QB tear the secondary to shreads I questioned our rank then and now we are #8. o'm tickled for UK but I left questioning how good the Cats defense is and whether or not our defense will be our undoing in the SEC

But the 2nd half was a totally different story when UK gave up a total of 89 yards. And the majority of those were on the 2nd string after the game was clearly out of reach. Basing teams abilities on 1 half alone, where would you rank LSU with there first half performance against Tulane? Im not trying to discredit what your saying cause I myself(a UK fan) dont think UK is the 8th best team in the nation, but I do feel we fit in the #10-#12 range.
