I'm certainly not in that camp, but there was more justification for Louisville in the top 10 during the preseason than there is for Kentucky right now.

 

I agree....Louisville deserved to be in the Top 10 when the season started, and they don't now...UK has beaten three horrible teams, one team that was ranked, and one team that is pretty good....It's very easy to understand why some don't think UK is Top 10.

I as a UK fan question the #8 ranking. I think we fit more in the #10-12 range. But after such a crazy weekend in college football, you can imagine why this poll would come with alot of controversy. I personally wouldnt have wanted to fill one of these out with over half of the Top 13 losing, and 5 of those lost to unranked teams.

UofL deserved their ranking at the beginning of the season but now that the games have been played they showed differently and they don't deserve a ranking whatsoever. Same with UK. I think they deserved the lack of credit they were getting at the beginning of the season and they too came out and proved everyone wrong. How am I raining on UK's parade, I'm happy for them. I'm just arguing what I see as bad points, it has nothing to do with UK.

Polls are subjective by definition so it stands to reason that some teams are ranked too high and some are ranked too low. It is just somewhat :lol: to read Louisville fans, who had no objections to the Cards high ranking, even after a couple of very unimpressive wins, calling into question UK's top 10 ranking after five impressive wins.

 

The 'Cats have beaten the teams that they were expected to beat and they beat them soundly. They have also beaten a couple of teams that few people expected them to beat before the season began. Regardless of what any UL fan believes, Kentucky has earned its current ranking by its play on the field not by virtue of preseason press clippings.

 

Most UK fans are realistic enough to understand that a 1-2 or even 0-3 record is very possible for the 'Cats next three games and nobody expects that anything short of wins over Florida and SC and a respectable showing against LSU will keep us in the top 10. We know that the Wildcats will be a very good team, even if they have a 6-2 or 5-3 record in a few weeks.

First of all, I stated that UofL clearly wasn't a Top 10 team after the second game of the season and UK does not have 5 impressive wins imo. Second of all, I have never stated anywhere that UK didn't deserve their ranking so you're arguing with yourself over that. The only thing I ever pointed out on here was a bad argument as to why UK was better then USF. Once again, another UK poster gets defensive for no reason just because I'm a UofL and argues a point with me that I never brought up...

If Kentucky's wins have not impressed you, which games should they have won by wider margins?

I guess one could argue that the margin should have been bigger against Louisville, considering the Syracuse game, but the two teams are rivals.
