It dont make me feel so much like UK is overrated when I see Boston College and Wisconsin ahead of them. Grant it Im not complaining that they are, but we arent only top 10 team that people can say is overrated, because I haven't been impressed with either of those teams.

Now comes the challenge for UK to hang around a while, the schedule that is brutal is finaly here.

I'm giddy about UK's success, and I am beside myself with happiness about this team. I love the improvements they have been able to make and the big big strides that will mean for the program in many ways.

 

But I will be the buzzkill and say that they are not the 8th best team in America. Not with this defense. Better than Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas? All of them? I love the attention, but the football realist in me says no way. We might beat some of them in the right situation, but I wouldn't rank UK ahead of all of them at this point.

 

However, we will have the chance to prove ourselves and the proof will be in the proverbial pudding. I hope I am wrong when it all shakes down.

They have two decent wins. They barely beat Louisville, a team that isn't even sniffing the top 25, at home on a last-minute touchdown pass on a mega-breakdown by a horrible secondary. The Arkansas win was a good one, but the Razorbacks aren't anywhere close to the poll, either.

I think a big reason for USF's jump is because they beat Auburn and Auburn just beat Florida.

I think we might have blew Florida up to much after beating a weaker UT team, because they have really struggled last two weeks. As far as Auburn they are an ok team but have struggled all year, this isn't Auburn team we are use to, grant it they looked much better the other night.

But I have no problem with were USF or UK is rated, they both are probably a little overrrated, but they have neither yet to be stopped and picked up a couple impressive wins, and IMO deserve it right now.

Arkansas and Louisville are no longer in the Top 25 in large part because of UK. That's how polls work. You lose to good teams, you drop. You lose to bad teams, you drop faster. Pollsters do not and should not penalize teams for knocking other ranked opponents from their lofty perches.

That's not what I'm saying. Louisville has shown in their last three games that they were highly overrated ... nothing they've done this year merits a top-25 ranking.

I think too many people are getting wrapped up in how teams historically perform or how they are supposed to perform. Simply put, UK is performing better than a whole lot of teams right now. It's not a ranking of the top 25 programs of all time, just the last few weeks.

 

Also, UK has a top 5 offense in the country in terms of talent. And if that offensive talent is enough to offset the mediocre defense on a weekly basis, then their lack of defense is a moot point. One stat matters.

I think they are better than some, same as I think UK is better than some but that's not my point. He was making fun of another poster for disagreeing with the "AP voters and many of the top college coaches in the country" when I would easily bet that he disagrees with them as well.

UofL deserved their ranking at the beginning of the season but now that the games have been played they showed differently and they don't deserve a ranking whatsoever. Same with UK. I think they deserved the lack of credit they were getting at the beginning of the season and they too came out and proved everyone wrong. How am I raining on UK's parade, I'm happy for them. I'm just arguing what I see as bad points, it has nothing to do with UK.

I'm certainly not in that camp, but there was more justification for Louisville in the top 10 during the preseason than there is for Kentucky right now.
