Ok, I get that. But what about the Freshman level. why dont they take baby steps and start there?

 

I'm guessing because the 2A schools + Beechwood are locked into 2 games with each other and the 5A/6A schools are locked into games against each other and playoffs. Some of the 2A schools were able to get a game with one of the 5A/6A schools for the final game but I believe that is only with teams that probably won't be involved in any playoffs at that level, some are just playing 8 games.

Last time I remember playing NewCath was when I was there and they got upset because we hurt their QB(who later recovered to pitch in MLB) but they(Schneider) need to realize that maybe they are a 2A powerhouse, but they are not in the same league with Highlands or any team in Louisville 5A, PERIOD!!! However, if Cov Cath does not right the ship, and the Breds keep beating everyone Beechwood-style, Maybe we could consider a truce and the boys could talk about renewing what could become a decent rivalry again.

 

I honestly love the fact that NCC is good and that they can beat some upper level teams. I do support the Breds, except when they would ever play Highlands-Unlikely.

 

As for wanting to play better freshman teams, I can't say that I disagree with this completely, but how bout a registration for an "optional" playoff system for the freshman program. I say if the Lil' Ponies want to come run with the Big Birds, let 'em. But just be careful who you put your money on when these Ponies come to the Big Track.:scared:

Oh, if you asked to play the Birds then great. I still need to hear the legit story as to why Highlands/NCC dont play anymore? I keep hearing different things and reading references to Mueller/Schneider. Let em play, heck most of the kids play each other anyway in the FTJRFL.

I don't know if they do or not, but I do know that a lot of NCC kids live in Fort Thomas since they may have went to St Thomas or St Catherine. Why not take advantage of an opportunity that's right there when only 2 NKYFL teams are in Campbell Co-Newport FF, Campbell Co Red Devils.

While winning state in 2005 and 2006, there was somewhere like 28 +/- kids from Ft. Thomas. Don't know if they all played in the FTJFL, but I'm sure most did.

Abner and company came away with a convincing victory. Line did a ncie job opening some holes for the running backs, as well as provided Austin some time to throw the ball on target. Duenas (sp) had a Jordan Kramer like kick-off return that was a thing of beauty! That was the turning point in the contest... Defense bent... but did not break and contained a good Dixie team to a field goal.

 

This squad reminds me of the class of 2006 Frosh team. A little confused at the start of the year, still finding the right player for the positions and then wham - they gel and play more like a team than individuals.

Another Wow statement. You're wrong on what I bolded. I would like for NewCath and Highlands to play. There's no fear there.

FTJFL definitely teaches excellent fundamentals.

Actually, the final was 24 - 3 Highlands. Adam Weinel hit a 39 yard field goal for the extra margin. Not a bad kick for a freshman!
