I hate when people take up for someone who is obviously guilty. If he's taking a plea bargain...he's guilty. Why take up for him and make excuses?

Goodell has shown that he isn't playing around thus far. I think he has done an outsanding job since he's been in.

Vick might go down as the biggest waste of talent in sports history if he doesn't make it back. In the past his teammates and coaches have seemed to all love him. That's usually how I decide what guys are like behind closed doors. I'm not really suprised that he was in on it and it's too bad he made the bad decisions he did. I also think there is a lot of worse things that have gone on in the NFL that we don't know about that would make this case look like Candyland. You give that many guys that have never had anything in their life as much money as these guys are getting at a young age and it's a recipie for disaster a lot of times.

If the Feds are involved I am sure that you can next look at the IRS getting involved. Seems to me they may have reason to consider possible tax evasion charges if any gambling earnings went unreported.

Yep! That wouldn't suprise me.

I heard an attorney say that this was not a "plea" but rather a "surrender" as the govt had all of the evidence they needed with the other plea deals. He said that would factor into the sentencing. Apparently, its quite common for those convicted in Federal court to serve less time than what they actually receive.

Who is worse? Vick?

 

Nate Newton? Convicted of having large amounts of drugs in his possession.

 

Pacman? Many violations .

 

Odell?

 

I'd probably rate them as:

 

Nate, Pacman, Vick, Odell.

Vick pleas guilty, gets jail time and suspension. Which is deserved.

Giambi admits using steriods, thus cheating in baseball and gets nothing.

Bonds gets blasted for steroid usage, even though he's never tested positive.

How does the two compare. One was on the court and the other during his personal time away from football. How will that cause a ? mark for football?

 

How do you know it was away from football? What if he owed someone something and thought the easy way out, instead of paying them he'd throw a game? No matter what your opinion is, a player running a gambling ring is bad for business.

Vick is done as a QB and better hope he has a great financial guy who invested the millions and millions of dollars he has made. He threw away about $50,000,000 this year in salary and endorsements.

I was curious how much he "lost". I knew some sponsors dropped him, but I wasn't sure of the total dollar amount.

I don't know how you pick one as worse.

Nate's a big boy but there's no way in heck he had that for himself. He was going to be a seller. How can that not be above a guy who hurt/killed animals?
