July 27, 200719 yr How do Asians fit into this topic? In this country, I really don't think there is as much of a racial issue with Asians and Whites...What I mean by that is I dont think as many people frown on the idea of Asians and Whites dating as they do Black and Whites dating.

Probably not as much with hispanic/white, either, compared to black/white. I grew up in a very non-racially diverse community, so I kind of stuck out.
July 27, 200719 yr I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I hardly ever see a black woman and a white man together. Maybe 1 couple for every 10 or more black male/white female couple I see. It happens more often than people think. Perhaps your figures are right, but I know of at least three white guys personally off the top of my head who have dated black women.
July 27, 200719 yr :thumb: I, too, am bi-racial (Hispanic/white) and have had my share of hurt from the words/actions of others. I have also learned similar lessons. It has just made me a stronger person. Is Hispanic/White considered bi-racial? If so, then I not only dated outside of my race, I lived with my Mexican girlfriend, while in Mexico. However, I used to get some ribbing over it, but everyone I knew accepted her with open arms. If they didn't, I didn't care. I loved her, that's all that was important.
July 27, 200719 yr Is Hispanic/White considered bi-racial? I'm not sure how to answer this. Most Hispanics are mestizo to start with. That is, they have both Amerindian and European ancestors to start with. So, they're biracial at birth, but are generally considered to be a caucasion group. So I would say they are not biracial relationships. But who knows what others may think.
July 27, 200719 yr I have been in my fair share of relationships and race was never a factor in determining who I wanted to spend time with. If two people enjoy each others company and there are no legal problems, as in age, then they should be allowed to do whatever they wish. If I was a parent, I can't see myself having a problem with one of my children dating someone of a different race.

I am not sure that you are using the word "hispanic" correctly. I thought this meant someone from a spanish speaking country, like say . . . Spain. There are also a lot of people from Central America who are native american and Southern European. I also struggle with Caucasian from Caucasoid (sp) which leaves you with Mongoloid and Negroid - I beleive we have moved way past that. Even on applications it now says - White (not hispanic). There are definite distinctions - whether societal or other. True-Blue even referred to her/himself :thumb: as bi-racial. BTW I could be wrong on all counts.

There are also a lot of people from Central America who are native american and Southern European. I'm using the US Census Bureau's really bad definiton. They consider "Spanish", "Hispanic" and "Latino" to be synonmous for their purposes. They consider Hispanic to be an ethnic group, and can be of any race.
July 27, 200719 yr Oh, I was confused at the title of the thread. Dating outside of your race, I thought it had to do with the human race. My bad! Although some people do not act or seem to be part of our race.

How do Asians fit into this topic? That may be true but I believe in recent years there has been more Black women with White men at least here in Central Ohio. And me being west of Columbus where there is alot of Japanese companies such as Honda and their suppliers I see alot of Asian women with White and Black guys.
July 27, 200719 yr How about marrying outside of your league??? I have to agree with you there.:thumb:
