June 1, 200719 yr Lebron is without a doubt one of the top 3 players in the NBA today, personally I'd rank him at 2 behind Kobe. What about Tim Duncan this guy has done nothing but put up big numbers every night and WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS,That is the telling stat in my mind.

Also can't forget the Hawks, Celtics playoff game where Bird and Nique went toe to toe for some gawdy #'s. But for me, this was the most exciting playoff game and performance since Michael.
June 1, 200719 yr What got me was in the interview room the press kept asking him if he was suprised at how easy they gave him the lane. It wasnt like they moved out of his way. He was extremely good and the thing is when any real posibility of points beside Lebron was out of the game he completely took over and earned his points. Lebron obviously played great...........but the Pistons' interior defense was not very good and certainly not physical enough after the earlier ejection. Where's Rick Mahorn when you need him:D , he would have made the drives to the basket by James a lot more difficult.
June 1, 200719 yr Eastern conference finals on the road against a team playing in their 5th consecutive conference finals. Everyone knows he's either taking a fade away 22-26 footer or taking it straight to the basket against a very good defensive team, and Tayshaun is widely considered a great defensive player. He also had 9 boards and 7 assists even though he didn't pass in the OT's or late in the 4th quarter. His second best scoring option in this series is? I'd say it's top 5 of all time. Don't forget his defensive stops and steals late in the game and OT. He was playing both ends of the court. Amazing performance.
June 1, 200719 yr I only saw the highlights. Not to take anything away from Lebron, he obviously put his team on his back and carried them to the win; but on some of the highlights the lane looked like the parting of the Red Sea as Lebron drove for layups. Is everyone afraid to be posterized these days?

June 1, 200719 yr I guess Chauncey Billups shouldn't have said "There's no comparison between Lebron and Wade of last year. Wade was on another planet." He said this before game 5 when someone asked about LEbron's performances in games 3 and 4 if they compared to Wade. Looks like Lebron made Chauncey look like a fool. LBJ was an absolute man last night. He stepped up and showed he can take over a game if he wants to. 25 straight points is unreal.

I'm sorry but ANYBODY who scores 29 of a teams last 30 points, in game 5 of the conference finals, in a DOUBLE OT game, against one of the two best defensive teams in the league, has to be considered as one of the greatest performances in playoff history!!!
June 1, 200719 yr Incredible performance and I would put it in the top 10-15 without a doubt but I do have to say that the Pistons lack of double teaming and the lane being more wide open than the expressway did not hurt his cause any. And someone on here said LeBron never complained about getting murdered; no offense but he complains after every no call or each time he gets a foul called on him and he could have been called for pushing off with his off hand many times. He played 50 minutes and somehow is only called for three fouls. Like I said, awesome performance and it may have wrapped up the series for the Cavs because Detroit cannot seem to get it done in Cleveland.
June 1, 200719 yr It has to be up there, HAS TO BE! At worst top 10. Lebron practically beat an entire Pistons team by himself. He was hitting shots that seemed almost impossible to hit, and even when he was getting murdered (without even getting the calls) he didn't act like Rasheed and wine, but rather got back down the floor and played D'. He controlled the game. In fact, he WAS the game. I mean I was in awe each time he touched it. Going behind the back, stepping back, you name it, 23 was doing it. For those of you saying it was just an alright performance, please get the wool unstretched from your eyes. And oh yeah, the game was in the D'. And oh yeah, they were basically doubling him up or trapping him each trip down the floor. Lebron silenced the critics "for good" tonight, and proved why he is the "KING!!" :thumb: Lebron took his first major step toward "heir to the throne" status, IMO. They questioned his ability in the big spots and he drained a huge shot to hold off a late Piston run in game 4 and followed it up with a huge game 5...if he can finish them off in game 6 at home, he's taken a huge step. Of all the guys in the NBA right now, Lebron is the only one who has a chance to exceed Jordan, IMO. He may never do it, but it at least looks like he's started down that road finally... And, what's up with Lebron not getting calls? That's a joke, IMO. The NBA officiating is ridiculous. Dirk breathes in the direction of D-Wade and they call a foul that costs Dallas the game, and then Detroit can practically body slam Lebron and nothing gets called. Rest assured, if Lebron keeps this up the Pistons will soon be complaining because they'll get whistled every time they look at him. I really hope the Cavs finish them off.

June 1, 200719 yr Reggie's 25 in the 4th was better than this and he isn't even in the top 20. I thought that his performance was in the TOP TEN. The pistons couldn't stop him they played GREAT D but he is too much of a beast to be stopped. He was in the ZONE:thumb:
