98NCCalum Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Very scary day for me and my family. My dad had a heart attack. He was complaining of indegestion all night and this morning. My mom took his blood pressure this afternoon around 1:30 and it was real high, which finally convinced him he needed to go to the hospital. They took him into surgery immediately and saw that one of the three main arteries was completely blocked (99%) and the other 2 were 50%. They put in a splint and he appears to be doing better already but it was a very scary day for my Mom and brother and I. Please include my Dad in your prayers tonight, I'd really appreciate it!
ladiesbballcoach Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Consider it done and I can empathize with you. Dad traveled down those roads and I have personally had to have an angiogram. So, I can appreciate what you are feeling 98. God Bless you and your family to give you wisdom and comfort through these days.
spindoc Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Will do, and I hope you meant the main arteries, not valves. If they placed a stint, he'll do fine, the blockages weren't severe enough to warrant bypass hopefully. Good Luck and Godspeed. Your dad is getting some prayer time from me momentarily.:thumb:
Henry521 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Thinking of you and thank goodness your mom and dad check their blood pressure and were on top of things and got him to the hospital in time. :thumb:

NEERFAN Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Prayers from this household. The same thing happened to my father, he complained of indigestion four quite a few hours, finally we called the ambulance but it was too late. Thankfully your mother was able to check his vitals, hope he has a speedy recovery.

atticus7 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 My dad has had 4 heart attacks beginning at age 44 and he is now age 82. Plays tennis in tournaments and is very active. Tell your dad to follow orders of his doctors because psychologically he will be bent out of shape the next few weeks. That will pass. My dad says when you can't lift your arms and your jaw hurts to RUN to the doctor. Good luck.
