Where is Rev Sharpton and Jackson...

Featured Replies

You have to remember that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are both former presidential candidates. They love the limelight. I wonder if thats why they got into the ministry to start with.

Since it has been proven the the Duke Lacrosse players were innocent, I think Sharpton should apologize to these men.

Nifong issued an apology today . Such as it was .

It's a start, now the rest of them need to get in line and apologize. I'm patiently waiting, Al, Jessie....

You may be waiting for a while.

Martin Luther King,Jr. was a fine man,a great motivational speaker and a patriot both to his people and his country..it should be illegal to mention Al and Jesse's name in the same breath with his!!

Why should any white man be guilty? just ebcause of the color of their skin? NO WAY! I have many African-American friends who are different from me in one way, THERE SKIN COLOR. And that is the only difference. Sharpton and Jackson make me sick! People are people, whether they be black, white, native American, or asian. As soon as we all start to realize this, the world will be a better place. Its sad that a few IGNORANT people, no matter what their race may be, can cause such uproars in this country.

I never said be guilty, I said feel guilty for what happened. And you're right people are people, but each race identifies with each other. No one's ever going to forget what skin color they are, and they shouldn't. People should be proud of who they are, and there's no reason to forget who we are. We should find positives in our races, not find negatives in others. No one race is better than another, but they are different...

Racial harmony puts these 2 out of business!!!

Exactly...they try to tie themselves to Martin Luther King,Jr,yet they have no clue what he was truly about..people living as people regardless of skin color. These 2 do more to harm racial relations than to try to heal them!!!

No truer words were ever spoken.

I bet MLK would have them working somewhere outside of the public forum. They do exactly what UKPat says, create tsunami waves from a rain puddle.

^It degrades everything that MLK stood for and worked his whole life to promote maybe?

It almost seems to me that Al Sharpton wants to keep stirring all this up. What I can't figure out is, he's supposed to be a preacher, yet the words "I forgive you" don't even seem to be in his vocabulary. Jesus was adamant about forgiving and not judging. American in general seems to have forgotten about that. Sure what Imus said was wrong. What Mel Gibson said was wrong, but is hating back on them the right answer.

Those are some very very good points hoopboy. Sharpton seems to be for Sharpton and nothing else. "Hating back" is not the answer, but it's exactly what Al & Jesse do.

Back to the topic and not each other....

Sharpton serves no real purpose, accept his own agenda. He seems to champion causes, to cry racial discrimination, when in my opinion, does more to create divide, than to bring together.

Not every act, police shooting, white on black, black on white....is racial but Sharpton, always appears in these type of situations.

Shame on you Sharpton.

Has the Rodney King case and him being made out to be a hero led us to this point of playing the race card every chance, whether the party is guilty or not?

I'm not arguing that race doesn't play a part in some incidents. I had a Cincinnati Police friend tell me that there were some very serious racial issues within their police force a few years back. Also you have incidents like the shooting of the New York bridegroom. What I'm asking, is the race card so overused that blacks and whites have a preconceived notion when they see it played?
