If he would have taken strike 3 in the first inning (like Junior and Eddie) than I guess it wouldn't have mattered as much in the 9th. The guy didn't have a 4-hit game...run him out. Trade the bum. Should he swing at more bordeline pitches? YES.

No. However, he has failed repeatedly to produce in the clutch. Does it make him a bum? Nope. It makes him a disappointment. His greatest strength (his eye) is also his biggest weakness as we saw in his last AB. This will sound strange. This team is not good enough to have him hitting 40 bombs but hit .200 in the clutch. His consistent 40 HRs are getting him paid. His inability to produce will get him traded in the near future. Its obviously not the batting coach. At some point you have to ask if he will ever figure it out. The jury is out on that one.

If he had 16 more chances with a runner on 3rd, like Vladdy, he'd have 11 more ribbies. If he had 11 more ribbies, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I realize his shoulders are broad, but to continue to heep more and more criticism on him is hilarious. Do the runs he knocks in at "non-critical" times count less? A disappointment...wow. They get paid to get on base, catch the ball, hit for average, drive in runs, throw strikes and yet, he can't do enough to please the masses, regardless of effort. He is, what he is and many of the others, are below average MLB talent.
