May 10, 200719 yr Can this team win ONE GAME on the west coast, someone needs to start that poll on the site. lol Maybe if we play a very weak h.s. team out there on an off day.
May 10, 200719 yr They have been better on the road then at home. That is VERY true, however, no one needs to be reminded how bad this team did on last years west coast trip.
May 10, 200719 yr You have to send E-5 out. Has no clue at the plate... Making fundamental errors, both physical and mental. Last night fails to look runner back...tonight 2 errors... Send him out...bring Kepinger up, move Freel to third and put Hobbs in center.
May 10, 200719 yr Can't help but think Stanton and his 8.10 ERA is going to be DFA to make room for Sunday's spot starter.
May 10, 200719 yr Author I think Saarloos will get the start. I would agree if he wasn't out there tonight...
May 10, 200719 yr * Is everyone ready to give me the Encarnacion = Willie Greene analogy? * Edwin is going out, I'd bet. I think they should leave Freel as utility (isn't great at defense at 3rd either) and play Keppinger everyday at 3B until he shows he can't. * I'd bet it'll be Bailey (they need a shot in the arm) that gets the call. Salmon going back is my guess for who goes out. I don't think they are ready to cut bait with Stanton.

May 10, 200719 yr Honestly could Bailey give them the shot in the arm they need? I doubt it now. A shot to the bullpen? No. A shot to keep fans interested and coming to the park? Yes.
May 10, 200719 yr Article in other thread says it is Livingstone's spot in the Louisville rotation come on Sunday and Bailey would be on 6 days rest.
May 10, 200719 yr A shot to the bullpen? No. A shot to keep fans interested and coming to the park? Yes. He would pitch at home maybe twice a month. That's not going to help attendance that much. FWIW I go to every business day special and I bought a 20 game pack this year. I have tickets today and I'm not going. I'm not sure they can save the season as far as attendance goes. I might go to see Bailey pitch once this year and that might be the only game I go to the rest of the year.

He could also spike merchandise sales, tv ratings, etc. This team is on the verge of losing the summer entertainment dollar, I'll be shocked if Castellini doesn't trump the "baseball guys" and pull the trigger on brining Homer up.
