March 24, 200719 yr Lets say this does happen, Billy D comes to UK. Yesterday I read a lot of "this is a sad day for the university of Kentucky" and "this will set the program back 5-10 years." How is everyones outlook on the state of UK basketball now ? How many of you would rather have Tubby coaching next season as opposed to Billy D ? I'm not calling anyone out, this is an honest question...

With that being said, I still feel it will be 2 years before UK would be an NCAA tournament team again regardless the coach.

Truth be told UK will be back no matter who they end up hiring. This is UK they will get a good coach. Rick's comments where a way to take up for his friend Tubby Smith. And make no mistake Tubby is a good coach but in the long run may not have been suited for UK for the long haul. UK will probably have a rebuilding year next year no matter who comes and then will improve from there. To much fan support and money not too.

With Morris gone, possibly Crawford and maybe a few others I cant disagree with you. Depending on who the next coach is, it could only take one year to turn things around. I dont see next year being one of our better seasons, but you never know.

March 24, 200719 yr Let's say we get Billy D. and Patterson and Lucas follow(best case scenario)....the lineup could look like....pending if Crawford is gone as well.... 1.)Lucas 2.)Bradley 3.)Meeks 4.)Patterson 5.)Carter....this is if he actually went with a center....I could also see 2 forwards and in some cases 4 guards....it could be good enough to get us 2 the tourney next year

March 24, 200719 yr I am loving how Billy D.... won't dismiss the UK rumors!!! YES YES YES!! Billy the kid will build us into the powerhouse that WE SHOULD BE!!!!!!! UK will have one down year from the mess Tubby left of us in... but Billy will have recruits actually WANTING to come here. He will have to turn kids down at some point!
March 24, 200719 yr The only bad news Wireman is: Andy Katz is saying he is "100% sure Billy Donovan will not go to UK." He usually has good info.

March 24, 200719 yr I think Billy D's future has a lot to with how far Florida goes in this tourney. If he wins back to back then think of the contract offer he will get.
