Billy Donovan will be UK's New Coach

Featured Replies

The only bad news Wireman is: Andy Katz is saying he is "100% sure Billy Donovan will not go to UK." He usually has good info.

Since when??? Katz is wrong more often than he is right...

What I am reading on this thread is absolutely amazing. I thought I understood what may or may not happen. But, my understanding is spectulation. Post on this thread seem to have much more certanity. How can this be without inside information. Slow down, you may be very disapointed.

I think so too, unless Florida wins another national championship this year.

Did you question the people's sources who are saying Billy D is coming? Not very fair to SA, if you ask me...

I am not questioning whether Billy D is coming to UK or not, only questioning him saying Katz, "usually has good info"...

:thumb: I really could care less either way if Billy D comes to UK or not...

Maybe because they had about 500 fans at the first two games of the NCAA's at the height of his career there.

Remember, hes been at UK before and knows the deal with support ,facilities , and tradition.

But their 12,000 fans now are mostly students who are VERY vocal. At UK, the Redneck Yacht Club Members get all the good seats and have been sitting on their hands for 20 years! During his tenure at UK, even Pitino wanted to get the students better seats at UK, but the AD at the time and President were not about to tick off the big money contributors.

Billy will use the UK job to get more money out of UF and they will pay it. He has a great job at a great place without near the pressures he would face at UK within the first week he is in Lexington.

I don't see him coming to UK folks. I will cheer for whomever is coaching the Cats. Always have, always will. But I just don't think it will be Billy.

I think he will come and I feel the biggest reason is EGO!

He seems to me to be driven to be the best and already believes he is the best. I think he has full confidence in himself that he can handle the pressure.

Remember what Ricky P always said, if you are prepared pressure makes you perform better, if you are not prepared it becomes stress and you do not perform.

I think he believes he is prepared and wants to prove it! IMO

I have a feeling that it will be Billy Donovan. My sources have also mentioned the $3 million per year...who knows maybe they are the same sources...lol.

You guys need to stop PM'ing each other. :D

Ok, I think its ok to go ahead and post this. A good friend of mine works at a bank in Lexington. He says that a very large sum of money was sent to one Billy Donovan this morning. I don't want to go into to much detail because I don't want to get anyone into any type of trouble. It's of course unofficial, but if I had the opportunity to lay money on it, I would bet that Billy D is heading for a press conference when the Gators lose (or win it all).

Very interesting if true...thanks for posting.

Fair enough...:thumb: Time will tell...

Assuming that what I heard is true, I would think Billy D is heading to the Bluegrass. Of course, we all know how these rumors are sometimes. If it happens, we'll just say it was on BGP's first!

If you think the info is solid then all you can do is pass it on if you choose...I do know that Billy D will have to turn down the job before anyone else has a chance to accept it so maybe/hopefully Mitch allready has him wrapped up.
