March 24, 200719 yr Assuming that what I heard is true, I would think Billy D is heading to the Bluegrass. Of course, we all know how these rumors are sometimes. If it happens, we'll just say it was on BGP's first! It's okay, that's the best rumor anyone has had about any of the coaching situations. So right now, I believe Billy D is the front-runner!
March 24, 200719 yr I just had someone call me and say they heard that Billy Donovan's wife is in Lexington looking for a house. No clue how much truth there is to this, but just adding some fuel to this fire. ......as Billy looks for his second straight national championship? I greatly doubt Mrs. Donovan is in Lexington looking for a house.
March 24, 200719 yr But I just don't think it will be Billy. All depends on the last initial. I'm feeling that it'll be a D, but I'd just as happily take a G.
March 24, 200719 yr If the money changes hands BEFORE his resignation from the Gators, as Wireman has indicated his source mentioned, what are the ethical implications there?
March 24, 200719 yr Since when??? Katz is wrong more often than he is right... Katz had Tubby going to Michigan. Just an example.
March 24, 200719 yr Katz had Tubby going to Michigan. Just an example.Katz thought it was a good fit, and he wasn't alone. I sure did. Wojo did. Heck, everyone thought that if Tubby was leaving, Michigan was the likely destination.
March 24, 200719 yr Katz thought it was a good fit, and he wasn't alone. I sure did. Wojo did. Heck, everyone thought that if Tubby was leaving, Michigan was the likely destination. Katz was on the radio as soon as the Michigan job came open, saying that he thought Tubby would be the next coach there. He was wrong. He as usual was trying to make his opinion a story.
March 24, 200719 yr Katz was on the radio as soon as the Michigan job came open, saying that he thought Tubby would be the next coach there. He was wrong. He as usual was trying to make his opinion a story. He was still a lot closer than 99% of the rest of college basketball.:thumb:
March 24, 200719 yr I told my pops thursday that I could potentially see Billy D trading in his Ocean front property for a KY farm after this season. Especially with most of his team likely heading for the NBA.
March 24, 200719 yr I don't get why Donovan would leave Florida. He has one national championship and is looking at a possible 2nd in a row. No matter how many championships he wins, Basketball will always be second to football in Florida. It's completely different in the Bluegrass.
March 24, 200719 yr #1. When it's official, I'll eat my crow...:thumb: I think everyone on here would agree that I'm a stand up guy... #2. A sorry? For what? Posting my opinion that was different from yours? For quote like this below mine!     I didn't seek out your post and laugh about them but I can if you want?
March 24, 200719 yr I told my pops thursday that I could potentially see Billy D trading in his Ocean front property for a KY farm after this season. Especially with most of his team likely heading for the NBA. My reasons all along!!!
March 24, 200719 yr Ok, I think its ok to go ahead and post this. A good friend of mine works at a bank in Lexington. He says that a very large sum of money was sent to one Billy Donovan this morning. I don't want to go into to much detail because I don't want to get anyone into any type of trouble. It's of course unofficial, but if I had the opportunity to lay money on it, I would bet that Billy D is heading for a press conference when the Gators lose (or win it all). I'm sorry, but I just can't buy this story at all. Tubby just resigned on Thursday morning. Donovan has been too busy to sit down, and talk contract with anyone, and I just can't see any money being wired without any sort of contract being signed. Besides Barnhart would have to have any sort of agreement approved by President Todd, and the Board of Trustees. I just don't see all of that happening that fast.
March 24, 200719 yr Author If the money changes hands BEFORE his resignation from the Gators, as Wireman has indicated his source mentioned, what are the ethical implications there? I would imagine that everyone that matters probably already knows, just haven't went public (ie both AD's, etc.).
