March 9, 200719 yr Hypothetically -- If Kentucky had won, would we have had enough gas to seriously compete tomorrow? I know I would have liked to find out, but I was just curious what everybody else thought? In short, no.
March 9, 200719 yr Well I'm not a Tubby supporter or basher, I'm just a casual observer. The chip shot missed put backs, driving into a crowd of people, turnovers, missed free throws. Those things aren't his fault. Doesn't mean he isn't partially to blame for play calling, etc. BUT those things are on the players.
March 9, 200719 yr I'm tired of hearing about UK struggling against a "NIT" team. This is March. The playing field is even. So you think UK should struggle and lose against NIT teams or bubble teams? March or not, UK should have won this game. Upsets happen all year, not just in March. The playing field is never even. I dont understand what you mean by that?
March 9, 200719 yr This U.K. team has shown me signs of playing with passion and desire in this tourney. They played very hard yesterday and today and looked focused. I could actually see a little of the "U.K. Swagger" back and imo that is one thing that this team had been missing. I'll leave it to all of the bashers now, they have gotten excatly what they wanted.................a U.K. loss so they can get on here and have at it.
March 9, 200719 yr So let me get this straight....You don't want UK to succeed, and consider yourself a UK fan??? I guess the definition of fan has changed since I started watching sports.... The problem is they aren't succeeding.. If you consider 10-12 losses a year a success than YOU can't be a real fan. I don't except mediocrity and never will. This is UK the winningest program in college basketball history. If somebody doesn't do something about it soon they're not going to be.....

When U.K. wins he of course has nothing to do with it.

The playing field is never even. I dont understand what you mean by that? In March especially, any team can beat any other team on any given day. Ignore records and stats. You have to come ready to play.
March 9, 200719 yr I always love the cliches that every coach/player uses when March gets here. New season, everyone is 0-0, anything can happen, leave it out on the floor, etc, etc. Course all those things are true, BUT what I would love is for a coach/player to come out after a disappointing regular season and just say. "Yep, we have sucked and underachieved all year. We haven't played the way we're capable and more than likely we are going to lose our next game the same way we have lost our other 12 games." I would sign that coach to a lifetime contract ASAP! : )
March 9, 200719 yr Great game to watch! I'm upset with the outcome, but that was fun. UK just didn't have the legs at the end IMO. Almost every break went State's way late in the 2nd and OT. The "lane violation" was questionable at best. Gordon is a stud. He made Bradley look like his little whipping boy. As I've said all along I don't mind if they lose as long as the efforts there. Today they left everything they had on the floor (well, all but one), and you can't ask for much more than that. On to the Big Dance, I say they go in as a 7. :thumb: Well said.
March 9, 200719 yr All of you very knowledgeable basketball fans on here does not agree with me on the lane violation. OTS waived them off the line so they would not foul. The replays showed it!!!!!!!!!!!!! So its Tubby's fault Thomas moves as the ref passes the ball to the shooter? It happened at the same time. Maybe Sheray was supposed to be off the line to begin with but he forgot, we don't know that. The fact is they ultimately lost this game because they couldn't guard anyone. MSU penetrated into the lane anytime they felt the need too.

So you root for them to lose, so that a coaching change takes place? I've never seen a fan of a team root for them to lose...

March 9, 200719 yr The lane violation was garbage.... He moved before the ball was out of the officials hand. No....even the radio guys (and they are 100% Kentucky) said the violation was valid.
March 9, 200719 yr No....even the radio guys (and they are 100% Kentucky) said the violation was valid. The TV announcers said it wasn't.....It's a matter of opinion.
