March 10, 200719 yr Just got back from my 1st SEC Tournament. A great experience, what they say about Catlanta is true. Even with mediocre expectations the city was overrun with UK fans. I can't imagine what it would be like when UK is the favorite. From the hotel lobby, on the Marta, Georgia Dome (had to be about 80% UK) to the bars in Buckhead, UK fans were everywhere. Had lower level seats about 24 rows back on the sideline, very nice. Seated near us were Scott Padgett, and also Irving Thomas (who appeared to be scouting Morris). Great game regardless of the outcome, very exciting athmosphere. People normally complain about Tubby's offense, but defense lost the game yesterday. Several times State was able to drive the length of the court for layups almost uncontested. Bradley and Perry being held scoreless most of the game really hurt. UK depended on Morris, Crawford, and Meaks for almost all scoring. From inside the Dome, most fans weren't really clear what had happened with the lane violation thing until after the game. Even with that, UK should have fouled State before they could get a shot off. IMO Randolph Morris finally played like a 1st round draft pick. 29 pts. 15 rbs. and 3 blks. (I think). He really worked hard on both ends yesterday. If he had brought that kind of effort consistently he would be a very rich man already. Would have liked to have stayed longer, but the Cats probably saved me quite a bit of money with the early exit. :lol: On the bright side we sold the remaineder of our 5 ticket books to State students on the way out for $200.00 That bought a lot of beer back in Buckhead.
