Please explain the letter of the law that your are pointing to. The rule says Thomas can't leave his spot once "the ball is placed at the disposal of a free-thrower". IMO, he clearly left prior to the shooter having "disposal of the ball".

I think he would have been fine if he continued to go. Going back when Meeks had the ball is a clear violation...

The ref who threw the ball to the shooter immediately asked for it back and said "my time". Can't help but feel we got a little hosed on that one.

Two down years by UK standards and everyone is throwing a hissy fit. Tell me this, how many championships did UK win between 1958-1978? NONE! Between '78-96? NONE! Look at Duke, another top program having a down year. It happens. The Cats will be fine. The people who call for Tubby's head obviously no nothing about the game of basketball. As many bashers say they want whats best for the program. And I do too, and right now, Tubby is whats best for the program.

That is what I thought, but like I said, I was off to the 10th tee, disgusted, and cursing the officials.

But it was called by the ref off the ball. Tough pill to swallow but it was stupid either way...

True dat.

Matters not, any official can stop play. I expect an SEC apology on this one, similar to the ACC one to Clemson after they got cheated at Duke.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one...

I agree, but tell me how its a "violation by the letter of the law"?

And didn't that just make everyone feel a whole lot better about the game.

He was off the line and in a neutral zone when Meeks got the ball. Keep going and I think it's fine. Going back and trying to get reset is a no no from my understanding...

I agree, but: once time was called, Thomas could go anywhere. The officiating crew was obviously not in sync on this one.

Like I posted previously, there may be a reason that I'm not aware of, but what I saw, and what has been posted on here, there was no violation.

Sucks that we lost, but Meeks is going to be a freak.

Well, we did get shafted with the lane violation, but Thomas will feel like crap and take most of the heat, I'm afraid. Not a big Thomas fan, but I'm feeling bad for him now.
