I will say I have always felt that Douglass strength and condition coach, Ed Towle is the best in the business. However I think Highlands had a few players going both ways and Douglass did not.

I was surprised Highlands scored 20 points on that d. As I stated earlier I thought 14 would be max. Overall good start for the Broncos!

I think they are well conditioned. Guys going both ways in a humid environment. First game of the year. The 4-0 turnovers were brutal. Birds will bounce back. That’s a really good Douglass team.

Polls need to show some respect to the Broncos. They handled business.

Dakari Talbert had 156 yards and 3 TD's tonight for the Broncos.

I thought this would be a much closer game. I thought wrong!

My rule of thumb has always been every turnover is worth 7 points.

Highlands offense was basically the QB running the ball. They are probably 5-5 or 6-4 at best

I think Highlands will be fine, they will not face another defense as solid as Douglass.

4 Turnovers to 0 is tough to overcome.

Glicod announcer Chris Wolfe (Highlands grad and longtime Male coach) could not have been any higher on sophomore QB Armstrong’s athleticism, arms and legs. After 1st drive he felt he was the real deal. He reminded me so much of Lamar Jackson’s early games at UL……lots of turnovers, but potential out the whazoo. Armstrong is going to be special, but his 3 turnovers were definitely the difference last night. Lorenzen’s turnover was not a fumble, but rather a great steal by FD.

He's a better kid than athlete. He's an easy one to root for.
