On Day 1, I thought it had potential. But you're right, it is terrible. Takes multiple clicks just to get to scores, has scores from multiple dates with no clear division, scrimmage results are posted

Very disappointed in the first version. The overall design is very poor, and it is not functional or accessible at all. The header navigation has several links that just take you back to ArbiterLive.

I'm just thankful we have something. I was afraid we weren't going to have anything at all moving forward. There are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out, but it is better than nothing.

I wonder how they're going to put the RPI out. And who's going to be the first coach to check it to see if it's right.

This guy is doing fantastic work already. I like it so much better instantly.

If you needed an example to see how little effort the KHSAA put into making a worthy successor to the Riherds schedule, that site is a perfect example. What an indictment that seemingly in the span of less than a month someone put out a better product. Albeit one that as of right now only has football.

The KHSAA had at worst roughly 7-8 months to do better.

The only reason I have to go to the Arbiter version now is just team stats. In every other way kyhssports new site is better

This site is awesome, just need to get everything up to date.

I love the option that anyone could post the score, which would be nice so there isn't a lag in waiting for a school official to do it.

Looks like a job opportunity....

Anyone know who the hero is behind kyhssports? Bravo to whoever is the brainchild behind this gift...

Cliff's notes version ...

What is better about this site?

Question 2: Where do we go to get the stats for a team and its players?

What is better? Short answer for me is navigation, it is so much more user friendly. From any matchup page, you can click on either team and go to their team page, then click on any team on their schedule and go to that page, just like the old Riherds scoreboard. Navigating the new Arbiter site is very cumbersome and you can't do those things. Also the new one is much much better suited to mobile format you can easily navigate on your phone, unlike the new Arbiter page.

To my knowledge, you have to go to the Arbiter page to see stats, as that is the official KHSAA place where teams are to report them.

I like the ability to hit the link to go to that teams Region and/or District. Seems really easy to navigate, now we just need the data!

I believe the site runner has indicated the stats and rosters is a feature on its way. They're building this from the ground up, have expressed a desire to not "scrape" any data from Arbiter, so they're relying on that data to be input, just like it was on Riherds. I'm sure that will take time for adoption. For instance, Bowling Green has theirs up (https://kyhssports.com/team/bowling-green#roster).

As to what is better, others have already noted the main highlights. It is significantly faster than Arbiter. I don't just mean faster to navigate to where you want, I mean speed, everything loads much, much faster. It much more resembles what we had on Riherds in terms of style of navigation, and yes, the ability to click on a team on a schedule and go to that team so you can see their schedule.

Some features this site has that even Riherds didn't, is the ability to "follow" teams, which pushes them to the top of the scoreboard view, like in this photo:

There's also the ability to go to a Standings page, and see standings for all classes, all districts, as well as drilling down to each class. This should hold true of other sports (for instance regions and districts in basketball). You can also filter by class from the scoreboard views. Riherds got the scoreboard filter towards the end of its time, and it never had anything like the standings except starting midway through the year when they'd have it for the whole class. But you'd have to know a member of the class to go to it on Riherds (for instance I'd have had to click on Boyle County to see 4A, while now I can just go to the standings).

They've got a long way to go to mature their product, to match/exceed what Riherds had, but they've come far very, very quickly. The KHSAA made a clunky skin to Arbiter data and called it a day.
