Based on what I witnessed, that sounds right.  And I hate to dwell on this but the hanging on the rim was above and beyond.  But... that is what you get when you don't enforce rules, things slide further and further downhill.  With all that said, and as a fan, I loved the dunks!!

Particularly when the player does a chin-up after the flush. That is suppose to be a T. Now, it is permissible if the player is moving forward and it is deemed he was holding on to keep from taking a bad fall and getting injured. But the chin-up is never allowed, or not supposed to be per the rule book.

You have to beat the good teams at some point.

My takeaway from this game is X is better, they have better talent, a good amount better talent than CCH.

It’s hard to believe that St X lost 7 games this season. I assume most of them were out of state.

I didn't watch the game, just followed along here. No technicals were given, so apparently the 3 officials on the court didn't think they crossed the line.  An extra shake is rarely called.  Usually extensive hanging or doing a pull up gets called.

It is what it is but at least a couple of techs should have been called.

Great season by CovCath, but X was just awesome after getting boatraced that 1st qtr.  Going to take a hot team that can play above the rim with them to keep St. X from winning their 1st championship in forever(?).  Loss of Harney certainly hurt, but X deserved this win.

The pressure on McGillis was great all game by several defenders.  Seemed like the physical, long, athletic defenders had him off his game.  Any one know why Harney only played 21-minutes?   I watched from work, but occasionally had to step away.  I hope he wasn’t injured.   They aren’t very deep, so not having him hurt.

Oh well.., X was the better team. Curious to see how Cash does at UK.

?? St. Xavier will meet the winner of Warren Central vs. North Laurel in Friday's 11:00 game.

Congrats to X on weathering the storm and shooting lights out from 3. They deserved the win today. Great season by CovCath!

St. X had the recipe for success against Cov Cath: long, athletic, and top shelf skill level. Male and Madison Central, same.

Captain Obvious: Say what you will about the dunks, 12 of 18 beyond the arc will win a lot of games.

Great ball movement too.

In no way did I guess CCH would win the rebounding battle.

Colonel bench is reasonably deep.

There is no substitute for Cash Harney . . .

Game was 61-55, with 3:51 to play.

5 of those 7 were in KY. I got to watch St. X multiple times this season. More talent/athleticism than anyone in KY, and should never have lost a single KHSAA game. They dramatically underperformed this year IMO.

?? Tigers on a mission: 1926, 1935, 1958, 1962 . . .

63 year Championship drought in basketball is hard to believe with how they churn out championships in all other sports (football, golf, swimming, etc.).  Next game will not be a walkover, as a Sweet Sixteen game sometimes can be.

I know two of those loses they probably should not have lost late in the season… one to CAL and one to North Oldham. Lost to Male early, I think in KOB and then to Ballard at home.

I think this group of X seniors have been waiting for this time of year after the way the last two years have finished and I think will hit a different gear this week. The seniors have experienced a lot of high school basketball and should be able to stay in the moment, similar to the first quarter of today’s game. They didn’t seem rattled, they just played and guys made plays to keep them inching forward to close the gap.
