Robbie Graham is not taking the Mason County job IMO.

Not a power house at the moment. It would take a few years to get it back to the point. He has a powerhouse at GRC established.

He has a chance to win a state title again at GRC next year. When Coach Cook & Graham retire, they will probably name the court after them or something. I wouldn't leave that.

If anything, would think he would succeed Buddy Biggs at Fleming if Biggs were to leave, since that is where Robbie played. But am sure he would have his choice of bigger and better girls or boys programs anywhere in the State if he were to put his name out there.

I know they pursued Graham last time but it fell through. I would be shocked if Robbie left now, not with what he has going on. 

I still believe Owen’s Crawford would be an awesome hire.  He has an impeccable resume, really knows basketball, players love him and candidly it is his time to go after and grasp this opportunity.

I don't see anyone on the current staff being given much of a chance. I don't want to speak for Mason County Admin but my feeling is the position is currently open because, they want someone who can win the region. If Brian, was unable to do it with Owens on his staff there is nothing to make me think him sliding one seat over to be the HC will change that. I believe Owens, is a good up and coming young coach in the area. I still think it is likely that he remains on the next staff anyway.

I thought entire staff had been let go.

I look for Crawford to stick around and be on staff if possible. He is close to tenure as a teacher, so it wouldn’t make much sense to go to another district and start over. His freshman team had a pretty good record and the 8th grade team had a good season. There is talent on the way up.

Not in the sense of "I can do my job poorly," as much as in the sense of "protection from budget cuts and layoffs." Yes, almost every teacher wants that extra layer of security.

Here are some names I could see popping up with this job as time goes on. Sam Elsbernd, Jason Thompson, Jason Hinson, Spencer Morris, and a possible sleeper name of Terence Brooks.

I think the correct hire at the current moment would be Robert Myrick.  A Mason County alumni with a kid coming up.

Owens Crawford I think will make a solid option for someone in the future but I do not see Mason County going with back to back head coaches from Augusta.  That theory would suggest it wouldn't be Hinson either.
