Who out of that would they hire? Waiting over 2 weeks to post it, you’d think they’ll move fast. 

This hire should resemble the one Montgomery just made. Someone not as “big” of a name but one that has a plan to develop the program and has some experience. Do they move quickly or wait it out?

It is much more. It takes a lot for a teacher to give up tenure. You don’t necessarily have to start over. If a teacher has tenure and leaves, then they are not tenured for a single year and then it picks up again. It’s a very stressful year though.

The school year is still in session, what's the hurry?  The above list appears to be mostly retreads, what are you gaining?  Keep the process open for a while.

The longer you wait, the more coaches commit elsewhere or lock down school jobs elsewhere. Plus you can start the process of getting to know the coach and implement the system. You prefer not to start that in June. A coach should know within a week or so if they want the job.

First of all I don't have a dog in this fight.  You have already fired a coach superior to people applying, so you now have to be patient.  As stated early, school is still in session, you have plenty of time to prepare for the upcoming season.  We're not speaking of a big time college basketball deal.  Just my thoughts.

Most good programs begin open gyms and weight lifting in April. You also need to start signing up for summer camps soon I would imagine. So getting a coach in there sooner than later would be a priority I would think.

Candidly I am totally oblivious to your argument.  After leaving tenure I worked 50 years in business with the only job assurances was what and how I did my job might earn me another day on the job.  Kind of a motivator for best performance.

Key words, most good programs, there are assistant coaches left that will handle the detail duties.

Former Menifee head coach.

He was only at Mason County for 1 year, spent a few years at Holmes.
