September 30, 200322 yr This is the best idea I've heard on here in a long time. Maybe we can put an end to everyone turning a lot into alot. I think they are teaching that in school nowadays because you sure see it "a lot."

It depends if you start a thread like this: "ho do yo tihnk will make it to the carpit in lousivilell this year i think the m udtown moles are goingt to be agrete tema they pass alot and thats goood." If that is the first post in a thread then it is closed, if it is in the middle of one we will delete the post or edit it if possible to something like this: "Who do you think will it to the carpet in Louisville this year? I think that the Mudtown Moles have a great team, I think their passing game may lead them to the finals."

September 30, 200322 yr Why complain? Its the rules. I personally like it. Sometimes I get in a hurry and post something then I look at it and think "Oh my goodness, I bet these people think I am an idiot." It really does not take any more time to do it right. Sometimes in the past I have posted things in haste and really should not have posted them to begin with. Maybe, if you take a little more time to think things out before you post them, you will not run the risk of being suspended or worse. If you take the time to look at it and make sure it is readable, then maybe you will change your mind about what you are saying. So I guess this rule may have a two-fold effect. Listen I understand the thought process behind the rule, and support the founder and moderators. This is the best site of its kind, lets try to help the guys who do the work keep it that way.
September 30, 200322 yr A great idea. Reading poorly-written and grammatically-challenged posts can destory brain cells and cause one to gradually lose a handle on the rules of the English language. We come here for persuasive and informative posts. How many of the posts described by Bluegrassfootballfan are either. Those posts are usually sumarrily dismissed. I say, "About time". Way to go, GURU!!

I feel certain Guru discusses this with all the mods. Guru and the Mods are in constant communication with the other members, in a sense they can test the waters that way before implementing anything of that nature. Besides from what it looks like, most members are in favor of it. Are there some members that do not want to use proper grammar?

September 30, 200322 yr I am all for this rule. Spelling especially, but capitalization and punctuation are some of my pet peeves. I know that usually if I see a post that is poorly spelled, capitalized, or punctuated, I usually skip over that post b/c I feel that no good thought could come from that post. I'm sure that many of my fellow BGP'ers would agree with me on this. I feel that this decision will improve the quality of this great site and will help in any way I can to keep this rule enforced. Excellent decision on the part of our leaders.
