  1. I believe you used to be able to watch them here http://www.justin.tv/funchester But now, no such luck................
  2. Anyone know if this will be streamed online?
  3. There was NOT an editorial in the "hard-copy" of the LHL this morning, and I would be shocked if we ever receive a written "apology" or "correction." I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg from the Old Doctor, as his witch hunt will continue...
  4. http://ukbasketball.bloginky.com/2009/10/29/clarification-pattersons-new-truck-in-huntington/
  5. I tip my cap to Coach B! You don't come across too many finer coaches, and you definitely don't come across a better all around person!
  6. My apologies....I'm getting ahead of myself to Saturday's game with SC....Going to be up in that area around game time....But I found my answer! Thanks!
  7. First of all, I think the Cats win by double digits. Second of all, does anyone know if the game will be shown in the NKY area? Particularly in the Newport, or Cold Springs area? If so, what channel? 64 maybe? If you don't want to post on here, you can pm me! Thanks!
  8. Let's also add on 3rd Team Parade All-American! http://www.parade.com/articles/editions/2008/edition_04-06-2008/4All_America_Boys_Basketball Congrats to Darius!
  9. I think the ONLY way to get them out of the dreaded 8/9 seed is to win the SECT. Granted, if the lose game one, they may drop to a 10-12 seed.....I think a 6 seed is a great possibility.......
  10. bump....Updated Cats now a #9 seed facing K-State.....Could a box-and-one keep Beasley under 30? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
  11. Lunardi has the Cats in as a #10 seed.....Personally, should they make it, I'd rather have an 11 or 12 seed, granted at this point I just want them to get in!!! Cards come in as a #3.... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
  12. I couldn't agree more! That is the absolute key....TEMPO! A slower tempo gives the Vols fits, for the fact they want to get out and run-run-run. UT's have-courts sets aren't that great, and if they are not hitting from long range, UK has a chance. Control the tempo and guard the perimeter, and the Cats can win. Regardless, I think UT comes out pumped and gunning; for the Cats sake, let's hope there are numerous blanks in those rounds!!!
  13. Rivals now has UK IN the tournament as a #12..... http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=773443
  14. As of right now, it may be...Granted, the majority of fans are realistic...You are one of them (as a Duke fan albeit)...You support your team, but in a reasonable manner...You are just as quick to call out your team as praise them...I am realistic about the Cats...They need some time, and I understand that...It's frustrating to see what some of the fanbase do to tarnish the image of one of, if not the, greatest college basketball programs of all time...
  15. I firmly believe they will be back!!! Those that think it will happen over night are simply unrealistic...CBC needs time to get HIS players...I think he has done an exceptional job in getting his current players to buy into HIS system...When he has a complete team of solely the players he recruited, LOOK OUT...I truly think the sky will be the limit!!!
  16. '96-'98 spoiled a lot of fans...Don't get me wrong, I love the intensity and pride the MAJORITY of UK's fans have...It's the %1 that just don't understand reality..
  17. My point exactly...This is a different team without D-Miller...MC plays GREAT team ball, but take him away, and the 10th becomes that more competitive...GRC and Mont. Co. shouldn't take that as a slap in the face, because it's not (I completely respect their teams and their talent)... If I'm Coach O'Hearn, I want the ROCK in Darius' hand if the game is on the line...Pressure will bust a pipe EVERY TIME, not so much when he has the ball!!!
  18. Possibly, but he is the "go-to-guy" on this team, just as C-Lo was a few years back...Without D-Miller, this team isn't nearly as good...Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from the rest of the team...Setty and Middleton complement Darius just as Dustin and Jarod complemented Chris...They go hand in hand...Take D-Miller away, and they ARE NOT a state championship team... Nice win tonight guys! :ylsuper:
  19. I couldn't agree any more! Top to bottom, the ACC is much better than the SEC...The SEC is simply down this year; it happens... Every win on out is a must...Win the next three, and then possibly, just possibly, sneak into Knoxville and catch the Vols off guard...Yes, easier said than done, but I believe the opportunity may just be there...A BIG road win against a top ranked team would certainly help out the Cats... Meeks is going to take a few more games to get into "shape"...It would be nice to have him at 80% for the UT game... PS CAN hit that "j"...He just didn't do it today...Keep shooting that shot young man, the majority will fall! Nice win, just keep it up! :ylsuper:
  20. Let me re-phrase, I don't think the committee would leave UK out if they finish higher in the SEC East, particularly if we go 12-4. I think 12-4 is the shoe-in point. Granted, I've eaten my share of crow many a times.
  21. I agree to a point. They do need quality wins. I feel as if they need to win 3/5 against Vandy, ARK, Ole Miss, UF, and UT. Those five, along with Miss. St., as of right now, are in the Dance. Out of those six, I feel like Vandy and Ole Miss are the most likely NOT to make it (especially Ole Miss). I think the committee would be hard pressed to "leap-frog" Vandy over the Cats if we finish better in conference play. Bottom line, as most are saying, is they simply have to keep winning!!!
  22. LC: I'm just using your quote as a starting point. Now I'm just throwing this out here for "debate fodder," and I am in no way trying to start something, and granted I do not have any specifics on why this may have happened....but In the '95-'96 season, Duke had a regular season record of 18-11 going 8-8 in ACC play. On Jan. 25th of '96, they were 11-7 (2-4). They lost in the first round of the ACCT, yet still made it into the Dance. Again, I don't know what other factors were involved that the committee took into consideration. I use Duke as an example because they are a high profile team, just as UK is (regardless of recent years). Now, maybe some things have changed in 12 years, regarding what the committee looks at in a team....UK is currently 11-9 (5-2). Again, maybe this is a bad comparison. I just thought from a "record" standpoint, they seemed like a bubble team??? Thoughts? If any....
  23. At this point, I feel they are definitely a "bubble" team. The trend over the past few years in the tourney has been the success of the Mid-Major teams, i.e. Gonzaga, George Mason, etc. The committee knows that Mid-Majors=Cinderellas. Which in turn could equal upsets, which then again should lead to better ratings. Now, is the committee going to make a poster child out of a "bubble" UK team that has a 18-13 record per se, and take a league runner-up out of a Mid-Major conference? Or, do they go after the money that UK and its fans bring to the tournament? Regardless, for UK to have a chance, they need quality wins, and several of them. Its my understanding that the proverbial umbrella to get into the DANCE in regards to RPI is 70. The Cats MUST win out at home, giving, as of now, quality wins over ARK, Ole Miss, UF, and possibly Bama. Win at least one game in the SECT, and I think they are in. Seventeen (17) regular season wins, and one win in the SECT, with an RPI under 70, and I think they are in..... My $.02 worth............
  24. From what I could tell, Russell played with two safeties most of the time and always with at least one. MC was actually 15/21 passing with three td's...Not too bad if you ask me! IMO, we have a great head coach and staff, and they do a wonderful job calling the plays! I stand behind Coach B. on all the plays he calls in. I think we are very fortunate to have a wonderful head coach and staff to help him out! We will compete year in and year out, and I don't think we can do much better with ANY other staff! Russell is a quality football team....Always have been and always will be! As long as this district stays the way it is, with a few exceptions, it will always be MC and Russell playing for a district title and fighting to move on to the regionals! We had two classic battles this year, and I don't think things will change! My hat goes off to the Royals on a nice season! Best of luck to the Red-Devils!
  25. Appreciated, but he wasn't nearly the tail-back that Gary, Nathan, Caine, or Brad were.....Not even close, but again, the comment is duly appreciated... (he was a little better with the "bat & ball".....) Gary Green, Caine Hughes, and I have to add in Gaylon Thomas would have absolutely flourished under Mason County's current head coach and system.....These guys were very good, and that might be an understatement, because all three could have been GREAT under better coaching......:thumb: Gov.......
