No shade to any of these players, but how is transferring multiple times within your four years of high school allowed?

Great question.

Will do.    Steve has forgotten more basketball than you’ll ever know.  I’ve watched him take teams that had low expectations and he turned them into winners.   I’ve watched take team afte

If teams stay the same as they ended last season(which we know they won’t), my top 5 would look a little different. The top teams from last year all have major holes to fill. DCA has no one on that ro

Yes, my guess is they play smaller with Anderson at the stretch 5.

That would be good strategy, especially given how much they like to slip Fraley into the post against a guard.

PC usually has a good JV program.  They'll need to have some younger guys step up, given what they've lost.  Cook, Idlewine, and now Farmer will be big losses for them.

Collier Sexton back in the black and gold.

To be fair, Mercer and DCA were when he was in elementary. I believe he went to Boyle in early middle school. Maybe 6th grade. He did leave for Mercer last year and came back this year. I’m assuming this is another move back precipitated by the basketball coaching change.

I think he will make a big difference for Boyle. He’s a guard that can handle it and score. He and Harper Webb will make for a good backcourt.

I think the region will be deeper and more balanced this year. wirh as many as 9 teams that have at least a shot come regional tournament time.

DCA, Pulaski, West, Southwest, Somerset, Boyle, Rock, Wayne & Lincoln.

Owen Wheeler will be in the backcourt with Webb.

I also heard Ashton Drakeford will be playing basketball again this year.

I believe they’ll all three be on the court at the same time. I think of Wheeler as more of a wing. He has grown and gotten a lot stronger. Always been a good shooter and plays hard, but I don’t see his role as being one of the two primary ball handlers.

I really hope so. That would help the team, for sure. He is athletic and very long.

The Boyle team could be a wild card this year.  It will be interesting to see what their roster looks like.  Drakeford started at PG for Mercer some as a freshman.  I don't think he has played the last two years due to injury but could be a good role player on the wing that maybe helps some if extra ball handling is needed.  Sexton could be a solid guy that could help out some.  Still not sure Boyle has that one guy that could take over a game and get buckets when needed but roster could be moving in the right direction.  Hopefully some more football guys come out too.

It has to be West's to lose considering their new addition and returning players.

After DCA and Mercer the next 8 teams all had between 6 and 8 regional losses.  It’s way too early to tell what we’ll see in the 12th this year.  Plus, there have been some key transfers like Farmer going back to Wayne.  Some new additions, such as Ben Mikel, to DCA.  Injuries, such as Maddox Hager.

While it’s possible for a guy who sat out a year or two to step up in a big way it’s not probable.  It’s the same thing for guys who averaged 2 ppg and appeared in half the games.
