You have to love thinking back on the good old days, since no current Steeler was on the team the last time they won a Super Bowl. I think maybe only two current Steelers players were even on the team the last time they won a playoff game.

I must admit though it is nice though that you do have those memories of Super Bowls. Since it doesn’t seem like that will be happening again anytime soon.

Well if someone wanted to compare playoff wins why not compare Superbowl wins. The Bengals will never win a Superbowl!

Lou is a good coach and will land somewhere.  But I agree with him being let go.  The defense was consistently mediocre with flashes of really good play.  That side of the ball here needs a new voice.

Well that Bengals actually still have players that contributed to those playoff wins, and key players at that. So makes it still relevant, not to mention the QB that has also got them those playoff wins. The current Steeler players besides two I believe, don’t even know what it is like to win a playoff game as the Steelers. The Steelers since 2016, have been very Marvin Lewis Bengal like. Good enough to make playoffs, but can’t win while there. Basically just floating around that middle ground, where can’t even get a top QB either.

Higgins is projected to a 112 million contract! He won't be in Cincinnati next year.

Probably not and he will not be with the Steelers for a couple of reasons #1 he has said he  does not want to play for them. #2 There is no one who can throw him the ball! The Steelers had the 27th ranked passing offense in the NFL.

Most people list as the top 4 spots for Higgins to land is: Bengals, Patriots, Commanders, or the Chargers.

If Higgins isn't here, it won't be because of money. Bengals have the cap space to sign him and Chase.

Chase is projected to get 143 million  4 years.

That looks about right.

This what I saw projected yesterday.

In terms of what we can expect for a Chase contract, Spotrac's Michael Ginnitti is projecting a four-year, $145 million deal, with $100 million guaranteed.

Plus they can almost double their space by unloading dead weight like Stone, Hubbard, Karras, Volsen and a few others.

Is Hubbard dead weight, or hobbled by injury this year?

One level above dead weight.  The only way I would resign Hubbard is for backup money.

Did his game go into free fall this year?  Didn’t really see this regression coming.

I think he has lost half a step and he didn't have that to give.

Yes, agree, I am assuming that happens. That's why I say they can afford to pay both Chase and Higgins. Think of it this way - would you trade Karras, Hubbard and Rankins for Tee Higgins?

Unless the DC doesn’t think he fits the scheme. Then I don’t see them moving on from Stone, since he did play much better at the end of the year. I also don’t see them moving on from Karras, he actually did a solid job and is a leader. Rankins should be gone, Cappa should be gone though, same with Hubbard, and I would consider moving on from Pratt too.

Wow, this is horrible news, get better soon, Erick.

I think the key is what was said to the new DC when hired.  If Golden was told that he needs to work some magic with young guys because the $$ was going to the offense, then Tee can be signed.  Cutting Pratt, Hubbard, Rankins and Stone saves a ton.  If he was told they were going to give him a nice budget to bring in the FA he wants then Tee will be moving on.  KC is trying to win their 3rd ring by going young on defense with a couple of vets mixed in.  Of course they have Spags as their DC.
