Lou is a good coach and will land somewhere.  But I agree with him being let go.  The defense was consistently mediocre with flashes of really good play.  That side of the ball here needs a new voice.

Wow. So shocking to hear you say that! ?

That behavior is actually more of a Steeler player behavior historically.

Every year a Bengal player is getting in some kind of trouble.

From cincyjungle.com:

The Cincinnati Bengals have hired Scott Peters as the new offensive line coach and Michael McCarthy as assistant offensive line coach, the team announced Monday.

Peters, 46, comes to Cincinnati from New England, where he spent the 2024 season as the Patriots’ offensive line coach. He previously served as assistant offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns from 2020-23.

McCarthy, 39, also spent last season on New England’s staff, serving as an offensive coaching assistant.

I have no idea here, are these great hires?  Did the Pats have a stellar OL last year?  Something else?

The fact that Al Golden is in the conversation and they aren't dropping any hints as to it may be a current NFL guy makes me think Golden is the pick.  He already knows most everyone in the building and at least some idea of philosophy that will work well with Burrow and the Offense.

Peters is a Bill Callahan disciple. Worked side by side with Callahan in Cleveland and follows the Callahan script.

I agree that Golden is the next DC for the Bengals. I will be really surprised if it isn't him.

He was terrible at Miami and that makes me think ND head is calling the shots on their defense.

Most people have been awful somewhere. Arthur Smith was absolute garbage in Atlanta, but it didn’t stop the Steelers from snagging him.

He was  terrible at Pittsburgh as well.

I think he exceeded expectations with a washed up Russell Wilson who has an elevated sense of self and diva wide receiver who cares about himself.

The play calling was terrible.

Golden is not doing himself in favors the way the Irish defense is looking tonight. They are doing a terrible job in playing man-to-man and having no spy on the Buckeye QB he has rushed 6 times for 26 yards and 3 of those were on big 3rd down plays.
