We can laugh about Joe Flacco, but the Bengals are getting him for practically nothing.  I like him better than Jameis Winston.  This may be a "Hail Mary" for the Bengals' season, but at least we need to give them credit for thinking outside the box and trying to win.  Maybe Joe F. can pick up the offense playbook faster than Winston.  Maybe the Bengals just needed another quarterback named "Joe" to succeed.

Considering we have one of the top WR rooms in the NFL we should be able to go with max protection and still move the ball.

I still like Jameis better but that doesn't matter, let's go Joe Flacco!!

I am still scheduled to go to 4 more Bengals games this year (I share tickets).  It still may be bad, but at least there is something new to look forward to.

Right, it is a little something to look forward to.

I hope he can save the season. He came in and did wonders a few years ago in 2023 for the Browns. He took them to the playoffs!

The had to do something that gave them a punchers chance. If all else fails maybe he can throw a couple YOLO balls a game and hope for the best. 

I also don't think he sits this week at all. He's 40 years old and knows football. He can know a game plan by Sunday. If all else fails, throw it to #1. 

I agree with all of this. Browning missed a lot of open receivers. Flacco is an immediate upgrade. Whether that equals wins is the question.  

I'll add this. This is a pick me up for the Bengals locker room. It is an injection of hope when there was no hope left with Browning.

Agree and Browning may have become shell-shocked after that Minnesota pummeling.  Perhaps Flacco is a little taller and able to see over the Bengal lineman as they whif time and again.  Our O-line has proven itself inept on both the running and passing game.  Afraid Zac just trying to buy Coaching time before he loses the locker room.

Bengals needed a QB who will hit open receivers when they are open. Browning held the ball way too long. That also was not going to be Russell Wilson who looks for the home run every pass. I would’ve preferred Jameis but this is a steady hand who can keep the Bengals in the chase in a wide open division. 

I'm worried about a 40yo QB that's not real mobile behind that offensive line the Bengals have right now.  I know it's easy to pick this move apart but I have some apprehension here.

Time will tell. Any QB will have an uphill battle against this Packers defense. Micah Parsons is no joke.

Zac should be trying to buy time. He needs to find a way to have this team in position to have a chance when #9 returns. I believe the only way Burrow doesn't take a snap again this year is if they have no chance of making the playoffs when he would be able to return.

For the trying to save his job crowd, I always laugh at that in pro sports when it comes to coaches. The money is guaranteed unless you do something highly unethical. The coin is going to hit the direct deposit, wether he is the coach or not. This isn't the same situation like a high school coach trying to hang on to his small stipend.
