The Beechwood Super is in a great position and can retire early by what he’s invested in over the last two plus decades within his retirement plan, you can't blame him for that, this is a no brainer.

You can’t blame a person not to do the best for their family.  He’s helped make Beechwood a much better place and it didn’t start overnight.  There was a lot of planning, collaboration and community effort to get Beechwood’s infrastructure where it is today which was led by the Super!

He’s able to step away at a great time and am sure he will be there to support the direction for the new Super when that time comes.

I don't have the latest and greatest on superintendent wages, in 2018-19 Beechwood had the 19th-highest paid supt. in the state at $158,446, in 2019-20 Beechwood jumped to 11th-highest paid supt. in the state at $178,000, in 2020-21 Beechwood went up to 3rd-highest paid supt. in the state at $228,000 (Fayette County was #1 and Jefferson County was #2), and in 2021-22 Beechwood was 4th-highest paid supt. in the state at $234,840. So it actually sounds like in terms of standing in the state, they're letting things drop a little, believe it or not.

Correct me if I'm not wrong, but doesn't the Kentucky public school retirement system base retirement payouts on an average of the three highest years of salary for each individual? If Superintendent Stacy just renegotiated for more, that would make it a little curious that he would step out one year into the bigger contract.

Maybe he is taking an out of state job where he makes more.

It’s $250,000 for this school year.

Depending on age and amount of years in yes you get the average of your last three years. Many when they are thinking of retiring go to Frankfort to run the numbers. It’s possible that staying around another year or two wouldn’t make that big of a difference on what he gets in retirement. 
 

There is also the possibility that he has a different job not in the school systems lined up or a job across the river or even in another state further away. It’s not uncommon for people to retire and then go teach in another state. Granted if he was going to do something like that then for tax purposes he is better off living in Kentucky. 
 

 

I know most people I know that live in Beechwood Schools have been beyond disgusted with his salary since it's an incredibly small district with 1 building.  The total number of students for about 1500 and his salary was 250k.  That doesn't seem to coincide with the market, anywhere.  Cincinnati Public Schools superintendent makes less and is in charge of over 35,000 students and over 60 school buildings.  What's the justification for that salary?  How is he responsible for the upgrades for the school?  Did the school board have nothing to do with it?  Everyone I've talked to who lives or works in the district doesn't seem to like him and questions what he does. 

I'm not trying to be difficult, but why does a district that small even need a superintendent?  I'm genuinely curious what his function is. There's a school board, to run the district itself and is in charge of major decisions like financials and personnel.  There's a principal for both the elementary school and high school to run the day-to-day operations of the building.  

It comes off as odd that you have a district with such a low population that has a super with such an exorbitant salary.  I know Ft. Mitchell is a wealthy neighborhood, but when you're nowhere close to the highest paid district for teachers in NKY, it kind of sends the wrong message to the public.

Just my 2 cents.  

Unless Mike Stacy was playing QB for the Tigers this year, I don’t think the Super stepping down is going to impact the 2025 Tigers. I have a feeling the next Super is already in the system and the Tigers will be just fine.

Looking extremely likely he’ll end up committing to a G5 school. 

A G5 QB plus Fryman and Pabst in the same class is going to do a ton of damage the next 2 years.

Yeah and him and his parents are gonna have to ask these coaches where he stands on their recruitment board. These D1s are offering more QBs than what they’ll be bringing in and I’ve seen first hand where a QB lost a roster spot at a D1 cause another QB committed before him.
