Highs in the 20's on Friday will dampen attendance of casual fans quite a bit.

Saturday will only be slightly warmer, so I don't expect this year to break or even approach any records.

Simply just bring the State Championship back to Bowling Green. I don’t want to hear about how UK has nice facilities, nobody cares. Teams are there to win a Championship and go back home. Why would y

Trinity will always have a big crowd. Big  school with lots of state titles and tradition. Past football players for Trinity will always come out to watch another potential state championship.

  • The 2010 Boyle County vs. Allen County-Scottsville game had a big crowd mainly because it was held at WKU, about 30 minutes from Scottsville who was making their first and only state championship appe

EKU and WKU both seat 20,000+, Murray is at least 15,000. I think EKU or WKU can host it easily.

As with Western in Conference USA, Eastern and Murray are both FCS teams that could theoretically be hosting a playoff game the weekend of the state finals, which makes it a non-starter.

The state of Illinois plays their state championship games at Illinois State University over Thanksgiving weekend. Illinois State was chosen to host an FCS playoff game. They chose to play on the road at Southeast Missouri State because the state finals were already locked in. No college should have to make that decision. For that reason, UK and UofL are the only realistic places to host the finals.

Per weather channel forecast, Friday high is projected to be 33 and Saturday high is projected to be 45. Very comparable temps as the last few years and 20 degrees warmer than today on Saturday. Not sure where Jumper Dad is getting his forecast? Should be good crowds.

Was there ever record of which State Championship game had the most in attendance?

IMO……I couldn’t tell from watching the games by TV on Saturday, but Friday looked like there was more in attendance being in person.

Its not just locker rooms, it's getting one game done, all the celebrations and both teams packed up and off the field, then the next teams getting set up and ready to go. It's a state title game, don't screw a team up off a normal schedule of pre-game, just so people can have a hot dog and watch the next game.

Michigan has the benefit of having it indoor at Ford Field so the logistics would be slightly different. As soon as one game was over, the next 2 teams up were warming up while they did the post game presentations. They also have it where it is $20 for the whole day (4 games) and they don't clear out the stadium between games. $40 to watch 8 games is a steal.

This would be even easier to accomplish at UK, since the Nutter Fieldhouse sits what 50 yards away from KF.

And I don't understand not having a full day price

Since they have grass, I don't think they would be too keen on six football games.

How about Louisville City/Racing Louisville stadium? seats around 11,000.

From one of the Louisville City owners, they offered the KHSAA use of their stadium for soccer championship and received no response whatsoever from the KHSAA.

That’s sad considering the care they take of their surface! If the pitch is big enough I wouldn’t mind to see football played there too! The stadium is really unique!

I highly encourage anyone in Louisville if you get a chance to go see a soccer game at the Louisville FC Stadium to do it!  Even if you don't like soccer.  They have great craft beer selection and restaurant kiosks around the venue with a ton of food selections that make it an incredible experience.  KHSAA missed the boat there!  The kids would have loved that!

That hour & a few minutes is...just...too...far of a drive for the KHSAA officials.  LOL

Do you think they would want 6 American football games played there over a couple days?

Has an American football game ever been played there?

Very good question VOR, but that has come up before and NO they do not want American football on that field.  They take meticulous care of it.  You can see special lights to promote grass growth working at all hours of the night to mention one thing they uniquely do to make their pitch the best for soccer.

No American football game has ever been played there.
