I do not understand why all championship games cannot be played at one of our small college/universities (Campbellsville/Georgetown…) each and every year. The stadiums are very nice and would be big enough to hold the games. A full house/standing room only  for a state championship game would be such a nice touch and great atmosphere. Some would argue that the campuses would not be big enough, but I think they would be, in my opinion.

I don’t think it will ever happen, but would be cool.

Simply just bring the State Championship back to Bowling Green. I don’t want to hear about how UK has nice facilities, nobody cares. Teams are there to win a Championship and go back home. Why would y

Trinity will always have a big crowd. Big  school with lots of state titles and tradition. Past football players for Trinity will always come out to watch another potential state championship.

  • The 2010 Boyle County vs. Allen County-Scottsville game had a big crowd mainly because it was held at WKU, about 30 minutes from Scottsville who was making their first and only state championship appe

Wouldn't the crowds be better if the games were closer together than 4 hours?

Give me 3 games in a row.  I'm guessing its a "money grab" by the KHSAA to spread the games out.

I'd be more interested in going if I could see games back to back.

Just doesn't seem like they use the facilities available to get more people there for games.

Based on experience of going to ALL of the championship games over the past 5 years. By the time they clear the stadium after a game, there is around 1 to 1 1/2 hours before the next game starts. They allow you back in 1 hour prior to the start of the next game. The timeline us about right. My only gripe is that if you buy an all- access ticket, why do we need to leave the stadium and reenter for every game? Fans with an all-access ticket should be allowed to stay inside the stadium for all games.

Also, the population base of Louisville should draw bigger crowds than either Lexington or Bowling Green (WKU). In the past, Louisville has drawn the biggest crowds for the State Championship games.

Would more people come or stay for games if they were closer together and they didn't clear the stadium?

Does anyone know the reason that they play the games in the order that they do?  Why not 1-6?

I wish they sold the games similar to the basketball sweet 16 by sessions. If you wanted to purchase the Friday session of 3 games you could get a discounted price and stay in the stadium all day. The same with a Saturday session. It is inconvenient to exit the stadium, sit in your car for 20-30 minutes, stand in line for the next session to enter the stadium.

I do not know why they play the game in the order of class 1A,2A,4A on Friday, and 3A,6A,5A on Saturday?

I liked when we only played 2 a day and played Fri, Sat, Sun.  Then it changed to Thurs, Fri, Sat

You have to have the gap between games to get teams in and out, also if people come for all the games it is nice to be able to go get food at some point during the day and not live off $7 bad hot dogs.  Most people going to all the games, want to make a weekend out of it.

There are 4 locker rooms at the stadium, so getting teams in & out is or at least shouldn't be an issue.

No problem with three games in a day. I do wish the times were adjusted: Noon, 3:30 and 7 would be more than enough gap between start times, at least in my opinion.

Its not just locker rooms, it's getting one game done, all the celebrations and both teams packed up and off the field, then the next teams getting set up and ready to go. It's a state title game, don't screw a team up off a normal schedule of pre-game, just so people can have a hot dog and watch the next game.

I'd say 1A, 4A then 5A.

As for where it should be... There's no reason it shouldn't rotate between Lexington and Louisville.

The largest Naia stadium that I know of is Georgetown I believe.  It's capacity is 5000.  I don't think any of the regional sites would be big enough.

EKU and WKU both seat 20,000+, Murray is at least 15,000. I think EKU or WKU can host it easily.

WKU has and it was great.  EKU could host but one side is significantly larger and better than the other side.  My post was in response to somebody saying Campbellsville, Georgetown and those NAIA schools should host.  They are just not big enough.  Western was great, except for the problem of them hosting their Conference title game on the same weekend.
