Colonels should be proud of an excellent year. Fought to the bitter end, and I’m so proud of those guys. Have many critical pieces returning for a serious 2025 run.

I still think CCH could have did 2 quick pass plays in the end zone at the end with 6 seconds left.  Probably wouldn’t have mattered but wishful thinking. 
Still a little surprised they got it down the field to the 6 yard line on passing plays that last drive.  The passing game wasn’t really working for us all night. CCH definitely had their chances to get to a bigger lead in the first half. I felt like we let that game slip away.  Good game by Franklin County. 

Congratulations to Franklin County on advancing to the big one. The Flyers are definitely tough defensively. And congratulations to Covington Catholic on a great season too. 
 

Colonels Wear Blue, you are definitely the best play by play caller on here. Didn’t have to watch one play of the game and felt like I was watching. 

Just like I thought, a classic in the making. 

Flyers get another shot at the title.

Two really well coached and disciplined teams faced off tonight. County showed some grit tonight. Cov Caths QB plays his game so well he is a handful. Doesn't get any easier next week.

I agree, great first post. 

Franklin County might have the best defense in 4A. 

- FC is really big and physical up front on the D Line. 13 is outstanding and they really set the edge well. Tough to run the ball against them. 

- Cov Cath was 2 for 5 in the redzone. Not good enough to win if you aren’t generating explosives.

- Harney took some big hits tonight and still delivered some big throws on the last drive. You love to see that toughness from your QB. 

- Disappointing last play, but objectively a great season for Cov Cath. 11-3, semis appearance and beating Boyle, Johnson Central and Beechwood after losing so much last year. The team next year should be very good. 

I am sure Coach E would like to have that FG he passed on when the score was 0-0.  

I know what some of you are thinking right now. ?

Anywho, who knows how it ends then.

I second that congratulations! Two excellent sports programs!

What you mentioned at the end I think is the how Franklin County is so dangerous. I briefly touched on it in the prediction thread, but they can come out in so many different formations and lineups whether that be the wishbone or whether they spread it out with the depth of personnel they have. Not to mention they do a great job at finding where they can best attack the defense.

Hats off to Covington Catholic for a great season. This was supposed to be a Covington Catholic team that was young, and probably wouldn't have a deep run. They sure didn't get the memo on that as they beat a great Johnson Central team and then pulled a win over Boyle County that will be talked about for many years. The red zone situation has to hurt tonight, no doubt, but after some time I'm sure Covington Catholic will look back on this season as a special one where they conquered obstacles and were able to reach the state semifinals in what is an absolutely loaded 4A class.

Great football game. Two different styles. Franklin Co has a tremendous defense and I think Cov Cath’s was very solid as well. What a competitive class. 4A ship should be fun.
