Very impressive win for CAL! I picked wrong on this, either way congratulations.

Congrats to CAL. I was very impressed by them when they played Ryle. I love watching Hodge and Company. It's not a one-man show but Connor is the straw that stirs the cold beverage. I don't see anyone in 3A touching them as they take another state title.

I have a feeling tonight says a little more about how good CAL is when things are clicking, especially defensively.

That is pretty wild. I've seen interceptions followed immediately by fumbles a time or two before, but never one that resulted in a touchdown. 

Not exactly a night to remember for #8 (Aiden Blakey). He's also the DB that lost Garyon Hobbs on the long CAL touchdown pass.

Yes. However, I do think CAL is better than Ryle, but Ryle is really good.

I agree in that I believe CAL is better than Ryle at least from a talent perspective, although Ryle had the best overall player on the field in Jacob Savage.  CAL was the better team for about 39 minutes in that game.  Unfortunately for them, HS games are 48 minutes long.  Inexperience and not talent is what lost CAL the game against Ryle, which is a huge credit to Ryle for hanging around and finishing.  I thought that the rough last 2 games and with being a young team, what they hopefully learned from that, would be of benefit to them in this matchup.  I was extremely glad to see them finish this one out  It's easy to coast when you're up 28-7 at halftime, but CAL won the 2nd half of this game as well, 7-3.  I believe when it comes to talent, CAL is a top 5 team in the state.  They have 8 seniors on the roster and only play about 5 of them regularly.  Granted, those 5 that play regularly are huge pieces to the success of the team, but it goes to show how much young talent CAL has.  Like I said earlier this year, if the rest of 3A doesn't stop CAL from winning 3 in a row this year, you might as well make it 5 in a row for them, because I just don't see them losing 3A the next 2 years after this.

Manual is just a strange team.
