And just two short years ago these kids were pretty much written off.  Showed progress last year and it has continued.  Guess that is what happens when coaches teach them the game and how it is played

I believe my point has been made.

Well, we haven't really seen his tax returns, so technically only 1/2 made.

Cov Cath is up 14-0 over Cooper at halftime.

Cov Cath ended up beating Cooper 35-6.

The Jags' starters ended up scoring on the Colonels' backups. The report I got from the stats crew, Cooper had the opening kickoff and had a long drive with a bunch of penalties that ate up essentially all of the 1Q, and then Cov Cath got their first posession and took it down the field to score early in the 2Q. Evan Link was starting at QB for Cov Cath, and Dylan Courtney came in with the backups in the 3Q. The stats guys mentioned that Courtney has a really nice arm but that Link has as nice of an arm, is taller, and was a faster runner as a ball carrier. Courtney did have a nice run late in the 4Q but took a hard hit and came off the field and Landon Queen came in to finish things up at QB.

They also said the Cooper quarterback, Lincoln Maxey, looked really nice in the game. But he wasn't getting a lot of opportunity between his line, the penalties against his team, and receivers running incorrect routes and dropping balls.

I'm gathering that Dylan Courtney is injury prone. Seems like Link would be the one to get the nod over Courtney moving forward based on how freshman football has gone. Hearing we have a pretty decent kicker playing for the freshman team too.

Where did Courtney play when Link started the game at QB?

I’m not sure I’d make a determination on who to invest in just yet.

- Courtney was good enough to win the job in camp.
- he’s also apparently (based on a previous comment) not as physically developed yet. I can’t verify it, but Link is definitely stronger currently.

Two good options for EE and they may look way different as juniors than they do now.

I also thought Link was good/big/athletic enough in watching him vs Highlands to get snaps on defense next year. Would be a good player at a bunch of positions.

How long until we see the response to this, saying that all the best freshman are playing varsity and JV, and if they were playing freshman ball, SK would be undefeated?

I just found out that the score from the Ryle vs. Simon Kenton was initially reported incorrectly. Ryle did win, but the final score was actually 27-22 Raiders.

Highlands beat Campbell County 29-14.

Highlands 29 Campbell 14

Conner 44

Dixie 34

Looks like it will be a CovCath/Highlands rematch on 10/31
