Friday's game will be something like 56-7 or 63-14. Cooper, Campbell, Ryle, Harrison and Mason will be running clocks. All will be right with the world for these games. It's what you do against Boyle, Covington Catholic, Elder and I guess Scott County. The blue print during this era in big games is close at Half and fall apart in 2nd half( See Corbin and Cooper). That needs to be corrected. It was the first game and plenty of time to correct some mistakes. Lorenzen does need a role. Depth seems to be a big issue. I believe only 3 starters didn't play both ways on Friday.

Cam Boyd currently hitting .313 with 2 HR's in his first 7 games with Ohio U. Jonathan Fitz is hitting .333 with 1 HR in his first 7 games at Xavier.

I think the wording in high school is Intentional foul. If this was a college game, it would have been a Flagrant 1. Which would be two shots and the ball.

You could schedule up like many teams do. Play CAL, play Highlands, Lex Cath etc. Still not sure why they don't want to play Highlands. They schedule games against Simon Kenton, Campbell County, Dixie. Doesn't seem to make much sense to say you are a small school and play 5A and 6A teams but not want to schedule the likes of Highlands 4A and CAL 3A.

Elder is legit. #5 is a stud. You might want to game plan to block him. Birds missed that memo. I felt like Highlands went away from the run super early. Kremer averaged 8 yards a carry. Got the fumble recovery at Elder's 23. Proceed to throw 3 straight times. Sliding in a HS Football is always going to be interesting to me. Birds fall to 0-2 in games which they have over 30 passing attempts and games were Lorenzen has less than 10 touches( Harrison and Campbell games not included)

Great game for the Birds. I counted 52 kids (roster around 70)for Elder tonight. If that was their A team.. Elder is in trouble. Not sure why you wouldn’t play your A group against your fellow GCL opponent. They lack any type of athletic ability and size. Tiny doesn’t even describe half the kids I saw on the field tonight. Not really fair to compare Moeller’s A team last year compared to this Elder group. I believe Moeller rolled in with 105 kids. It would be like comparing Moeller’s varsity team to Dayton.

I’d expect a close game. Interested to see, who O’Hara is throwing the ball too. I would think he throws a ton of screens. Maher and Campbell are two, Highlands need to keep an eye on. Highlands needs to get things going offensively. Fast start or first drive TD would be nice. Just hoping they can get the game in tomorrow. Hearing there is a chance of a cool breeze. 50/50 right now, if game might be rescheduled until Saturday morning.?

Are their ties between the two coaches? Seems like a random game to schedule between the two schools.

Future is bright in the Fort. Freshman Birds were impressive. Colonels were no where near as good as advertised. Brandon Smith is a stud Freshman who didn’t play last night. Stojkovic was a monster. Armstrong is the next thing at Highlands after Lorenzen. Birds are stacking some talent.

Give me Badin by 14+. Traditional powerhouse in Division III in the tri-state area.

Good game. St. X kills a team like Newport with depth. Just having another good player to replace one on the court. They’re loaded with talent and pretty impressive. I can see why they are #1. What was deal with St. X coach flipping out when the game was stopped for Newport’s player 1000th point? I have seen it 4 times this year and it’s stopped every time. Coach was losing his mind.

Bradshaw sick or broken hand?

Newport took the early lead and went up 26-8 at the half. Struggled in the 3rd quarter when Hoban went on a 19-5 run. Newport took over the 4th and finished on a 18-4 run to finish the game.

That is a SEC home court discrepancy on the free throws. Should be a fun Regional!
